About this audiobook

From New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting comes a new romance about trading secrets, breaking the rules, and playing for keeps.

My name is Ryan Kingston, and I’m a rule follower. I’ve never been in a fistfight. I always obey the speed limit. I don’t get drunk, and I definitely don’t pick up random women at bars.

Except the night I found out that my whole existence has been a lie.

I got drunk. And picked up a stranger.

Her name was Queenie, and she was everything I’m not: reckless, impulsive, and chaotic. We did shots and traded secrets. And ended up naked at my place.

She left me a thank-you note in the morning and her panties as a parting gift. But no way to contact her.

Six weeks later I’m sitting in the first official team meeting of the season, and there she is. I neglected to mention that I’m the goalie for Seattle’s NHL team.

And Queenie? Turns out she’s the general manager’s daughter.

Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom were the perfect narrators for this book, and this story only increased my love of Helena Hunting books. We had a little one night stand that segued into a romance of a Goalie falling for the GMs daughter. It was a little age gap, as he was older and "wiser" but our free spirit nature FMC gave him all the spice his very orderly life had been missing ..he was the calm to her storm ; her chaos.
I loved the side characters; how Queenie took immediately to Lavender a team mates child, and she rekindled her love of art by spending time with her. I like flawed characters that find their passion and this may be Helena Hunting's signature ; healing past hurts , bringing a couple together that are close definition of soulmates and watching them build a good life together.
Queenie was lost in life. ( arent most of us in our twenties? ) she never wanted to make her Dad disappointed, and she was just coasting letting her inner child demons not live to her full potential till Ryan Kingston held up a mirror and showed her what an amazing person she was.
We had a meddling family, exboyfriends with pregnant girlfriends; and just enough drama to make a Love is Blind season. I wanted more ice time for Kingston as he is a goalie and really ice action I live for, i liked the banter between him and his team ; I just wanted more bro momments! Am I going on to the next in the series? Also yes.
