About this audiobook

A political golden boy and the woman of his dreams take the risk of their lives in a sexy romantic comedy of strange bedfellows and second chances by New York Times bestselling author Lauren Layne.

Fresh off being named Citizen magazine’s Man of the Year, New York City’s youngest mayor, Robert Davenport, decides it’s time to strategize. Next move: a bid for the governor’s seat. In his way: an incumbent with a flawless reputation. He also has an Achilles’ heel: an estranged wild-child daughter with a past so scandalous it could be Robert’s ticket to victory. And a charm so irresistible it could be Robert’s downfall.

Rebellion is a thing of the past for Adeline Blake. As New York’s premier event planner, she’s all about reform and respectability. Then she’s approached by Robert to organize the party of the season. Curious, considering he’s her father’s most formidable opponent. And alarming, too. Because Addie can’t help but fall for the righteously popular candidate with the movie-star smile.

Now it’s Robert’s choice. Does he pursue a future that holds his legacy? Or the woman who holds his heart?

Ok so I went a little back and forth with this one. I liked Robert and I like Addie/Adeline and was going good rooting for them and then got infuriated, why well Addie was trying to not like him and she says she would set him up with one of her bestie Rosalie and he was kind of offended, yup got that and then Rosalie tells her she does not want one of her rejects because she knew her friend Addie liked Robert. So Robert was a wus and kind of let others push him to do things he didn't care much about, so his disgusting pushy Campaign manager tells him to go out with someone like Rosalie that she would be good for him and to get him votes he proving that he was not after Addie, textes her for her friends number- I lost all respect for him, then goes out not 1 nor 2 but 3 dates with her supposed Bestie- now remember this was the same friend that told her that she knew she liked him, but all of a sudden she didn't know?! really and then I lost all respect for Addie when she just lets it go like nothing-yup I almost stopped there, had to really make myself continue because by then wasn't really liking these guys, anywho I continued and did enjoy still wished that Addie was a little stronger I mean she left her dad who was scum, she started a new life so she was stronger but was a pushover with Robert- he used her, lied to her and she lets it go. He lets her walk out because he chose politics over her and then apologizes and done..I would have given it four stars but for those reasons I gave it a three which to me was more than fair since I could have given it a 2.Rcvd and ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
