Warning - the first book ends on a cliff hanger so make sure you have access to the 2nd book before reading the first.

Great narration & enjoyable read so far

Another hit by K. Bromberg.

Vaughn isn't your average woman. To an outsider she works an everyday waitress job, trying to get every shift possible to win over the care of her niece from social services but she actually works under a hidden identity and that's where the big bucks come from. No one associated with her other life know her as Vaughn, only V, until Ryker plows through her walls and discovers the truth.

Vaughn is a very intriguing character and from the start I wanted to know what was going on. K. Bromberg throws you right into the story and I loved that. I thought there would be a twist and that Ryker wouldn't be the love interest because they just did not get on but that's the magic to an enemie to lovers, workplace trope and K. Bromberg definitely wrote that well.

I didn't just love the characters, I also loved the plot. Everything that is happening with both characters is more than just their relationship with each other. Ryker needs to overcome his issue with woman and Vaughn has a hell of a lot of demons locked away while she struggles to keep control of her life that she shows social services.

I listened to this on audio and will definitely be listening to book 2.

I'm new to this author after seeing some of the Driven TV series. Triggers for childhood molestation memories in both the Driven series and this series. The main male character in the first half of this story could come off as forcing himself on Von (also referred to as V) especially if you didn't have her inner dialog to know she was attracted to him. There's a sexual entitement on the part of Ryker that some readers may not like, but otherwise this was a solid and engaging read. A good amount of drama takes place to keep readers on their toes.

3 stars 1.Resist 2.Reveal Resist ends in a cliffhanger . Must download both books. It is one story divided into 2 books. Pace of the story is irritatingly slow. jason Clarke, as always, gave a wonderful performance.
