About this audiobook

Thirteen years ago, Vivi LeBrun was sketching a rooster and eating Oreos when she first met—and fell for—her friend’s brother, David St. James. Since then, her love for David has only intensified thanks to years of friendship with his family, who rescued her from a lonely, tumultuous childhood. As she travels to Block Island to vacation with the St. James siblings, Vivi daydreams about reuniting with David, hoping he’ll finally see her as his soul mate.

After his mother’s death, David distanced himself from his siblings, determined to hide a devastating family secret. Now, he’s brought a new girlfriend along to his homecoming—one who’s pushing for a serious commitment. The last thing he needs on his growing list of problems is his budding attraction to Vivi.

With tensions running high, David’s behavior triggers a series of events that might cost him the love he’s always taken for granted and Vivi the only real family she’s ever known.

I just read this author's latest book and enjoyed so much, I went back and got some of her other books. I like her realistic style, and I loved this book.Vivi is best friends with Cat and has grown up with the St. James family, sort of an adopted daughter since her own home life is a mess. She's been in love with the oldest brother David all along, but he sees her as a friend and little sister. After his mother's death, he took off for a job in Hong Kong but now he's back with his girlfriend. A week's vacation on Block Island all together provides for a lot of drama as David sees Vivi with new eyes.Vivi is a firecracker, an artist and creative person pretty much the opposite of the sober, angst-ridden David. I liked how they both evolved to finally see the 'real' other person, not just Vivi's juvenile view of the high school lacrosse star and David's view of his best friend, but the adult people they now are. The story moves along and is well-written, with the other characters adding to the story. A very enjoyable contemporary romance that made me read to the early hours of the morning and buy the rest of the series.

Fantastic! This is a story of friends who have known each other since childhood and are trying to reconnect after a tumultuous couple of years. The main characters of Vivi and David have always had a special relationship but that's changing and neither is sure they are ready for what's ahead.

This is truly a great story and the author's development of all the characters makes you feel like you have known them forever. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
