Gwen Harrison:
The beautiful, high-born daughter of an English duke came to America to take over her sister-in-law’s matchmaking business. Will the enigmatic man who haunts her dreams cost her more than she bargained for?

Neil MacBain:
The retired Marine can’t deny the effect blue-blooded Gwen has on his troubled soul or his battle-hardened body. But as a client, Gwen is off-limits—until a threat from Neil’s past returns…and Gwen is caught in the crossfire. Now to keep her safe he will risk it all: his career, his life…and his heart.

I adore this entire series...as well as every other series by the author!! I'd previously read this, but after reading her latest first book in a new series "CHANGING THE RULES (RICHTER book 1)" I had a feeling I knew one of the characters.. Low and behold Neil from FIANCE BY FRIDAY is in the new series. So I looked at all her previous series and found his origin story in this book

Another wonderful book in the Weekday Brides series. This is the story of Gwen and Neil - thank goodness they finally got together. It has suspense, mystery and of course steamy romance. Great storyline and characters make the book great. Highly recommended read.

I received this book as an advanced copy through NetGalley.Having previously read Wife By Wednesday and Married By Monday, I was looking forward to reading Neil and Gwen's story. This story was a little different since the characters were developed in the previous books and there was obviously a mutual attraction between them. Neal is a former marine who now runs the security operations for Gwen's brother Blake Harrison the wealthy Duke of Albany (Blake's story is the basis for Wife By Wednesday). And therefore is also responsible for Gwen's security. Lady Gwen grew up wealthy and sheltered and is now trying to live her own life. She is more than willing to act on their mutual attraction but Neil keeps her at arms length. First of all she is a client. And after a tragic final mission in the marines, he doesn't let anyone close. But when a threat from his past sees Gwen as his weakness he will do anything to keep her safe. They end up on the run and in each others arms (as expected).I did not anticipate the level of suspense in this book and was pleasantly surprised. While this book could certainly be read on its own, I would strongly recommend reading the first two books first since the characters are all there. The books really do build on one another and I think the reader would feel like a lot was missing if they just jumped in here. And now I am really looking forward to Single By Saturday to read the rest of Karen's story!

I admit it. I can be an author stalker. I recently ran across author Catherine Bybee and read her "Wife by Wednesday (Weekday Brides Series)" story (I think it was offered by my library & I grabbed it). I GOT **SUCKED IN**. I immediately looked to see if there were more "Weekday Bride Series" books. Then I read "Married by Monday (Weekday Brides Series)". Again. SUCKED IN. So can you just IMAGINE my scary excited-ness when I realized I had the possibility to read "Fiance by Friday (Weekday Brides Series)" in exchange for an HONEST review? In "Fiance by Friday" we get the story of Lady Gwen & Bodyguard Neil. Their story been a long time coming... and it doesn't disappoint. Yet again, Catherine Bybee couches a love story with suspenseful intrigue, family drama and some hot interactions. I won't give up any spoilers, especially since it's not publishing until August 2013, but I will tell you what I really like about it! We get to "hear" from both Blake & Carter (a bit from the wives, but more of the action is from the men). We get an honest and heartfelt perspective on "survivor guilt" and life as a former Spec Ops military man. The joy of knowing there are still days left that haven't been covered -- and I have an inkling that Rick might be next??? (What I read was an Advanced Review Copy, so there was no preview -- this is just my idea/hope.) It's long, well-written, and WELL worth any money paid for it! The story is captivating; very suspenseful with many twists & turns (again - no spoilers here!)Things I didn't really like about it? I realized that it is called the "Week DAY Bride Series". Since Wednesday, Monday & now Friday are covered, that only leaves 2 left. Darn it!While I know I was fortunate to read this ahead of release... I just can't wait until the next one comes out!!!!
