I wasnt the biggest fan of Gen. I'm glad her character grew but it felt like a lot like blaming going on for her actions in most of the book. I like Evan. He was an a* at the beginning but I felt like his growth in the book was more on point. I'm really curious about the side characters.

I loveeeeed the good girl complex, but this one is HARD to get through. It’s really kind of boring in the beginning, and I don’t feel the passion between gen and Evan. I’m not done yet though, so maybe it’ll get better!

EDIT:
Evan actually says “I’m going to court you”. Bleh. Cringe. No one talks like this!! It’s so hard to listen to the dialogue in this book! It’s so cringey and not realistic at all. I’m officially done waiting to see if it’ll get better.

Former high school sweethearts Genevieve and Evan have always brought out the best and worst in each other. After a year apart, Gen doesn’t want to fall back into their old routines. Can Evan convince her he’s ready to be the responsible man she needs?

This followup to GOOD GIRL COMPLEX is just as intense and enjoyable. Gen is working to get her life on track, and Evan is a temptation. At first, he’s too hurt by the way she left him to understand her perspective. They have a lot of work to do on themselves and the relationship, and it’s satisfying to see them find their way back together.

The audiobook is entertaining and well-done.
