About this audiobook

A gargoyle, a leprechaun, and a motorcycle gang walk into a bar . . .

Scratch that. A human woman (me) accidentally walks into a Faerie bar run by a leprechaun who keeps a cursed gargoyle on a shelf. Somehow, that gargoyle goes home with me, and I start dreaming of a man.

Doran. He's trapped in stone and darkness, and only I can free him.

He says I'm the treasurekeeper, and I need to find his friends, the other treasures, so we can break his curse. He haunts me night and day, driving me to hurry. I can't sleep. I can't think. I have to find them. I have to free him.

Turns out his friends aren't that hard to find, because they're drawn to me, too. But these whiskey-drinking, tattoo-loving, motorcycle-riding badasses are resigned to their fate. Over the centuries, they've lost too many treasurekeepers to risk their hearts and souls again.

I have to find a way to convince them to join me. Before it's too late.

Contains mature themes.

I love this author but this wasn’t my favorite. Its short, doesn’t go into the depth she normally goes into, and I didnt connect with the guys like I normally do with her stories. I loved our leading lady, she is funny and fierce. I loved how she got Aiden’s attention haha and I liked the possessiveness of her guys once they got onboard. I think the leprechaun is my favorite after book 1. I did enjoy the Irish creatures/locations/stories and hope we get more with the other books. I also liked we get guys with powers or are creatures, it’s a nice change of pace from my recent listens of contemporary romance haha. So if you are used to the same relationship building from her other work, do not expect that in this one unfortunately. The relationships are quick, some go from 0 to 100 in a second. Don’t get me wrong it was a fun listen, but not the author’s usually MO. I would give it a 3.5-3.75 but I rounded up to 4 because I did enjoy listening and am intrigued enough to already be listening to book 2.

Narration was solid. I do listen at 1.5X speed because she was speaking too slowly for me. I thought she did a good job with the emotions behind the various character performances and she handled the accent alright, but sometimes our FMC would have an Irish lit, or her bff would suddenly be Irish haha. I think its a hard accent to do and having her do all the performances might have been too much (to keep everything straight). 4/5 stars for the narration, I think this could have been epic with duet or even dual narration with a male model.

Short. Light-hearted. Steamy. Not too keen on the narrator, but I got used to her.

The author is one of my favorites, I love the easy reading of this story. Her other series are very detail oriented. So this is a very pleasant change of pace from her other books.
