About this audiobook

It is social season in fae society and the usually rivaling kingdoms, the Seelie and the Unseelie, are brought together for their yearly festivities.

Lady Aanya of House Bloodborn, a royal member of the Unseelie, wants nothing more than to heal the rift of the two courts. Now that she has come of age, the beautiful fae lady, gifted with shadow magic and moonlight skin, must choose a suitable match — a strategic marriage to a Seelie lord or duke could be just the thing to gain political favor. But Aanya, ever the adventurer, senses imminent danger and has other plans….

Will she sacrifice true love for the future of her people? Or dash off on a quest for mythical items promising peace. Can she really face these looming dark forces on her own?

This exciting story weaves magic with the modern world. A fae realm existing alongside ours, utilizing both shadow magic and cellphones; where teleportation and train rides are both everyday forms of travel.

    3.5 Stars for me!

My rating range of this story... 2.5 - 4 Stars
    If significant, why?

Was cheating involved? Not really, but could be?
Any major triggers to be aware of?

    Scenes with heat... Yes
What point does it start? 50%
How much of the story? 5%
    Anything beyond M/F? No
    If yes, explained

    Heat Rating... 5/10
Clean or Fade to Black - 1 or 2
    Normal to Descriptive 3-5
    Detailed Descriptive Sex - 6-7
Um, Wow, Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

Was there so much sex or unrealistic sex that you rolled your eyes and/or skipped forward? No

The back story... The blurb says it all!

The Romance... Not your typical love triangle but the h essentially falls for two Hs. One has been with her for years and she realizes her feelings for him. The other she knew in passing for several years and she falls for him at a mixer.

The drama explosion... Bad guys try to kill everyone
Did it feel real or contrived? Sort of real
    Was it OTT? Yes
    Separation involved? No
Was it resolved properly or rushed? OK, then the overall ending was very quick.

Final Notes... The first 25% of the story is very slow and I almost gave up on it. It does get better when they get on the train. I listened to the audio book and the narrator is good and well spoken but could be a bit monotonous at times.

I dinged 1 Star for the first 25% and 0.5 Stars for some of the h's decisions which put others in harms way. I know that she is young but bad decisions don't care how old you are when people are trying to kill you.
