About this audiobook
No one ever expected the rakish, irresponsible Walter Langston to take up the collar, least of all himself. After an accident renders him unfit for military service, however, he has few other options. When he’s given the post of vicar at a parish church in a sleepy, coastal village, he’s convinced he’ll molder in obscurity.
Artemisia Finch left a lucrative career as a celebrated courtesan to care for her ailing father. Returning home hasn’t been easy, though, as her past isn’t even a poorly kept secret in the village. When the new vicar arrives on her doorstep, Artemisia is determined to send him on his merry, pious way. But Walter Langston is nothing like any man of the cloth she’s ever known—he’s funny, irreverent, handsome, and tempting as sin. Falling in love with a vicar would be a very bad idea for a former courtesan. Why does this one have to be so hot under the collar?

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a writer when I grew up, but there were plenty of times when I wasn’t sure I ever would be. As it turns out, it just took me about twenty years longer to grow up than I expected! On the road to publication, I took a few detours, including a stint in academia (I hold an MA in Classics from the University of Chicago and was a recipient of a Mellon Fellowship in the Humanities) and many years as a technical writer/instructional designer for a data processing company. I still hold my day job, but my true vocation has always been writing fiction and romance in particular. To stay informed of my release schedule, you can sign up for my newsletter (which I only send out when I actually release a book) or follow me on Twitter or Facebook. As a matter of public record, I tend to be a lot more active on Twitter, but also a lot more political. I am represented by Kevan Lyon of the Marsal Lyon Literary Agency. I’m a firm believer that love is the most powerful force in the world, which that makes romance the most powerful genre in the world. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise!

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I loved both MCs in this story and only wish church people were truly that forgiving, as I've always found them too be the most judgemental and unforgiving.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed the book however I felt the narrator took away from it by reading so fast and gasping for breath.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This story was so engaging. I enjoyed both characters and love scenes were very steamy. well written and I will read more from this author
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Simple yet Brilliant and Funny. Love the characters.
Great narrator that would pair amazingly with a female narrator, still a lovely experience. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good book. Ending was a bit short for my taste but recommend reading.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Brilliant story and really nice and steamy.
The narrator was good. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked the theme of forgiveness. A bit old fashioned but reflective of how things used to be.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It was awesome just a pity it doesn’t happen like that in real life
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5As always, Barbosa does not disappoint. She refuses to follow the trope of sacrificial codependency. Even though the story might be far-fetched, especially in the historical context, it should not be. For those of you who prefer less Salacious sexual encounters, you’ll have to fast forward through those and it seems strange to me that a writer as proficient as Barbosa would need to include so much sex… That said, this is a fun story.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Truly a sweet yet intoxicating romance.
I loved the narrators voice! - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Unnecessary raunchy but the actual story was good. The same story could have easily been told without the very descriptive sex scenes.
