About this audiobook
The Peninsular Wars may have ended more than a year ago, but they're not over for Colonel Jack Prescott. Cursed with perfect recall, Jack can remember the names and see the faces of every man he sent into battle, hear their dying howls of agony, and taste the bitter flavor of their fear. Awake or asleep, he can't escape the twisted, violent images or his remorse for having knowingly condemned too many soldiers to certain death. That is, until he chances upon perhaps the one woman who can accept him without judgment or condemnation.
'Tis pity she's a whore.
Editor's Note
A Week to be Wicked...
If you’re looking for accurate, issue-laden historical romance that is also scorching hot, look no further than the works of Barbosa. Her “Ever After” series continues with “Scandalously Ever After,” a romance between an ex-soldier with PTSD and a prostitute, the only person who is able to assuage his mental anguish. He acquires her services for a week, and their passion ignites from the first touch.

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to be a writer when I grew up, but there were plenty of times when I wasn’t sure I ever would be. As it turns out, it just took me about twenty years longer to grow up than I expected! On the road to publication, I took a few detours, including a stint in academia (I hold an MA in Classics from the University of Chicago and was a recipient of a Mellon Fellowship in the Humanities) and many years as a technical writer/instructional designer for a data processing company. I still hold my day job, but my true vocation has always been writing fiction and romance in particular. To stay informed of my release schedule, you can sign up for my newsletter (which I only send out when I actually release a book) or follow me on Twitter or Facebook. As a matter of public record, I tend to be a lot more active on Twitter, but also a lot more political. I am represented by Kevan Lyon of the Marsal Lyon Literary Agency. I’m a firm believer that love is the most powerful force in the world, which that makes romance the most powerful genre in the world. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise!

Reviews for Scandalously Ever After

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A strong female character unabashed by her profession who never thought she would find love and acceptance nor marriage.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is steeped in fantasy and not at all based in the realities of the ton's etiquette and stringent courting rules and customs. It was a great disappointment to read this predictable, mediocre publication. The heroine, however, was an interesting and captivating character. I enjoyed her unabashed views of her chosen profession. I only wish the story had the same vigor and charm
