About this audiobook

‘A brilliantly funny and unique story about love, loss, family and fitting in. I laughed, I cried - I loved it.’ Holly Martin

The perfect house, the perfect husband and the perfect life... or is she just faking it?

Life has been a bit of a rollercoaster for Ella. Growing up as the 'less successful' identical twin to her 'perfectly successful' sister, Emma, has left her feeling isolated, inadequate and let's face it... a little bitter.

When Emma unexpectedly reaches out to Ella in a time of need, Ella suddenly finds herself with the opportunity to fill in for her sister and experience how the other half live.

But as Ella navigates the world of gossiping mothers, rebellious teens and trying to play the model housewife (not to mention avoiding the temptation of attractive men at the school gates...) will she discover that all is not always as it seems on the other side?

A laugh-out-loud fish out of water romantic comedy from MILLION-COPY BESTSELLER Portia MacIntosh.

Loved it! This is the first book I've read by this author. Found myself laughing out loud throughout the story. I saw it had high review stars so thought it must be good! I'm going to look for more of her books!

This was really enjoyable and interesting from the get go. The narrator was fantastic and the storyline was very engaging. The premise relies on a bit of suspended reality, not to be taken too seriously, all the while remaining consistent in an *almost* believable way… in a rom com sort of universe that is. If you’re looking for a mostly light read with a bit of comedy then this should do you well.

The book is well written without pretending to be something it’s not, which is refreshing. The author didn’t feel the need to lecture on moral or political issues which is so rare to find these days, it was exactly what I needed after a dreadful run of far too many books full of needless virtue signalling.

Light and funny! The person reading it did a fantastic job with the characters as well. I always appreciate a good presentation of a story.

This book was recommended in the comments to My great ex-scape (also a good book, recommend) so I decided to give it a listen and gobbled it up in two days. So sad that the girls were forced a good girl bed girl on them humans are much more complicated than that. Both sisters had a hard time both growing up with a famous mom in a town full of reach people than watching their mom die slowly and painfully. Besides Emma got married when she was very young and had to keep a family running for years. Loved how honest realistic and strong relationship between Ema and Marco was. it's what I love the most about Portia Macintosh's books despite the crazy setting the love is real and true the kin d you really want in real life not the one that is actually codependency or abuse in closer inspection. I teared up reading Antie Angela's advice. Completely support

Great story! Made me laugh and got me teary-eyed. I love that not one character has everything figured out. Plus I'm all for not holding grudges:)
