Tonight’s sleep meditation can be used to help you fall asleep peacefully as you process saying goodbye to a person, experience or even a season of your life.
I hope it brings you closure, acceptance and ultimately, peace.
Close your eyes, my love,
And invite your body to settle into comfort.
Giving yourself a moment to move and adjust,
Until you find that comforting, familiar position.
PAUSE…
Now let your eyes get heavier,
And relax.
Let your cheeks soften,
Your shoulder drop,
Your chest open and release.
PAUSE…
Feel your arms sink deeper into your bed,
Your stomach soften,
Your legs relax and release,
And your feet melt.
PAUSE…
Breathe…
And come into this moment,
One with your breath,
One with your body,
One with your soul.
PAUSE…
It’s time to say goodbye, my love,
Whether you’re ready or not.
What was has run its course,
And is ready to be released.
PAUSE...
The tears may come,
And that’s okay,
Let them comfort you tonight.
Let them be the catharsis you need,
To truly say goodbye.
PAUSE…
So hold them in your hands, dear one.
All those memories that may arise,
Like precious stones,
Each with their own texture,
Features,
And weight.
Feel them collect in your hand as the memories come.
PAUSE…
Now imagine yourself holding up just one of those stones,
Examining it,
Feeling it,
Appreciating it.
Squeezing it tightly in your hand for one final moment as its memory, its lessons, its purpose embeds onto your heart as you breathe in deeply.
And then place it gently on the ground in front of you.
For the next few moments,
Repeat this process,
Picking up each stone in your hand, one by one,
Letting yourself be present and grateful for it,
And then saying goodbye as you place it on the ground in front of you.
LONG PAUSE…
Your life is in motion,
And it’s time to let go.
Time to say goodbye to what was,
And step into what is and what will be.
PAUSE…
So look below you now,
And see the extraordinary tapestry of stonework below your feet.
The memories that have paved the way for your next step.
They will always be with you.
They will always be a part of you.
