Description

If you've ever thought that you couldn't lose weight, even a lot of weight, because you are over 50, then you haven't met my sister, Cathy Lindsey. Cathy is 75 pounds into her weight loss goal of 100 pounds by Thanksgiving. She shares her story about her past with her weight, food, and how that all felt growing up through her teens, twenties and into her fifties. She shares her moment of realization that this was a journey she absolutely needed to take. And how even though she had tried EVERYTHING over the years, this time she was going to be successful. She expresses that even if you feel hopeless, you are not alone and you can too can take off weight if you are REALLY willing and are open to change your mindset. Cathy's story is inspirational and she hopes it is a lifeline for you.Among other things, the takeaways from today's episode are:1. Keep a food journal - it's a pain, but it makes you ultra aware of everything you are putting in your body. Cathy uses the My Fitness Pal app. Trainer Joe says, "You don't have to count calories, but your body counts every single one of them."2. Community and support of your goal are so important. You will be more successful when you are engaged with people who are there with you.3. Don't compare your weight loss journey to anyone else's because you will be disappointed.4. Getting into a program for weight loss that costs money should be considered a treat for yourself. It's an act of love for yourself.5. Food can be an addiction that you have to overcome. You have to set the realization that food is fuel.6. You have to have a moment when you decide that this is something you are going to do and you LIVE by that. Day in, Day out. It is your focus. Tell yourself I AM DOING THIS.7. Exercise is extra to the weight loss journey. It is more about being fit. A little exercise helps in your journey, but it's not the number one factor in losing weight. 8. There is no cheating on a diet - you are treating yourself.9. Don'ts focus on the things you can't have, focus on what you can have.10. You can do it. It doesn't matter how old you are, how big you are. You just have to decide that you are going to do it. There is nothing more important that you. Not even food.11. Being 50 is no excuse. Be happy. Use your time to seek out new opportunities, things that help your body, that helCome talk to me here:Find me on my Website:https://www.lesleylmcshane.comFREE: Midlife in Motion ROADMAP I want more details on the MIDLIFE IN MOTION program:I don't need details, I want IN in the MIDLIFE IN MOTION program:Schedule a Kickstarter Call to get your nutrition and fitness on track!Connect with me on Instagram:Get Redesigning Midlife Weekly Updates:Find your community at the private Redesigning Midlife Facebook Group:You Deserve It Notebook: Goal Tracker, Planner, ...
