Description

The plaintiffs claim the defendant, a certified accountant, made a huge mistake on their taxes, and they owe the IRS thousands of dollars as a result, so they’re suing. The defendant says the plaintiffs refuse to send her the paperwork from the IRS so she can see where the discrepancy is, and she insists she filed their taxes correctly based on what the plaintiffs provided.
Then, the plaintiff says he’s known the defendant for over 60 years. Longtime friend or not, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant owes him money for two tires he purchased for him. The defendant insists he paid the plaintiff back for the tires, but the plaintiff is exaggerating the price and should just drop the issue since it happened years ago.
Plus, the plaintiffs say their time living in the defendants’ place was a total nightmare. The defendants won’t return the plaintiffs’ security deposit even though they left the place in pristine condition, so the plaintiffs are suing. The defendants insist the plaintiffs treated the home like a pigpen and don’t owe them anything. The defendants are countersuing for additional damages.

"The People’s Court Podcast" draws on ordinary people who have filed grievances in civil court and have opted to have their cases heard and mediated by Judge Milian.
