Description
A live episode from the Be Well 2020 summit
What is the real science behind what we eat? We are all increasingly bewildered by the simple question of what to eat. Despite advice from experts, governments and dieticians about the dangers of too much fat, sugar, protein and lack of exercise, our nutrition, and the global obesity crisis, is getting worse. There is one area which scientists do agree on, and that is the importance of our gut health.
In this episode, Dr Tim Spector speaks live at Sarah Ann's Be Well Collective wellbeing event. Tim is a Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at Guys and St Thomas Hospital. Tm has published over 900 scientific journals, and leads the largest microbiome project in the UK, the Twin Study. Tim explains his wealth of knowledge relating to the gut microbiome, the facts behind what we eat, why people gain weight, fail to lose weight, and why allergy seems to be everywhere.
