Suddenly, nothing makes you happy, you lose pleasure or interest in the things that you enjoy, you feel miserable, gets easily agitated, and coping with everyday things becomes a real mountain. If this is you, it is possible you are depressed. And it's okay to seek help.  Depression sucks all your energy, drive, aspiration, forcing you further away from taking the action that will instead help you feel better. While coping with depression is not easy or quick, it is not a pipe dream. It is possible. Yes, you can beat it and go back to your normal self, feeling much better.  While exercising is one way to relax your mind and beat depression, athletes still get depression from other pressures of life. That means as active as you could be in this sport, it’s important to be aware and take precaution.  So how do you avoid, cope and overcome depression? Let's hear from Denetra who has walked the path.  Denetra is a Bikini Professional, Online Personal Trainer, and Hip-hop dancer. The fitness enthusiast placed 1st in her first ever bodybuilding competition only after four weeks of prep. Denetra stayed ahead of the pack at her first four competitions, winning 1st place at them all and earned her Pro card in only eight months. This qualified her to the list of the fastest amateur bodybuilders to turn pro. Besides competing, Denetra has been featured on major magazines covers and has worked with some of the world famous personalities such as Daft Punk, Calvin Harris, and Pharrell. She delights in helping people across the globe accomplish their fitness goal. Her goal is to compete in the Olympia.  In this episode, Denetra talks about how she spiraled into a deep depression, how she hated herself, lost her faith in God and had little hope and direction.
