Description

Journey Into Your Mind Muscle Connection and Keto  This episode is epic because we shall be addressing two main things: Keto diet and mind-muscle connection.  Ever heard of Keto Diet? Popularly known as keto diet, a ketogenic diet is a low-carbohydrate diet that enables you to successfully burn fat for improved health and performance. It's a substitute wellspring of energy when glucose is in short supply. And that's exactly what Keto Diet does. It deprives your body of glucose, which allows for slow carbohydrate break down, charging your energy as a result. So, what kind of food should you incorporate in your Keto Diet? Or how long should you practice Keto Diet? Before we dive in, let's briefly have a look at what mind-muscle connection is.  Ever doubted your mind has the power to improve muscle growth? You probably need to work on developing your mind-muscle connection. I know, it doesn't make sense. Let me simply break it down for you. The brain controls the body movement by releasing acetylcholine, a chemical that communicates with the muscles in the body.  Technical, right? Without sounding too technical, the more you can coordinate this communication (mind-mental connection), the more muscles you are likely to recruit. MMC allows you to grow structural balance, mobility and muscle quality by enabling you to recognize the weak areas and effectively build them up. So, how do you coordinate your mind and your muscle while working out? Natoshia has helpful details to share with us in these two areas.  Natoshia Coleman, IFBB Bikini Pro, earned her pro card at 2016 NPC Universe Championships and has been competing since 2013. In pursuit of becoming stronger physically and mentally, Natoshia began her fitness journey after a domestically violent relationship. Natoshia has been to the Olympia twice and her goal is to win the Olympia. She enjoys taking time to care and love herself. As mentioned above, Natoshia Coleman will talk to us about her journey as a professional athlete, her experience in doing a Keto Diet on prep, what mind muscle connection is and how to incorporate it into your everyday lifting. She also will share self-care techniques that you and I should be implementing more of. Without further ado, let's dive in.    Takeaways  Learn from your mistakes When you fail, fail forward You have enough strength to get through certain things Strengthen your discipline Appreciate and love yourself in all stages Listen to your body and understand how it moves for a better result Determine how to improve your mind-muscle connection  Take time for self-love and self-care Always relax to allow body healing Time away from the stage is important every now and then Have a strong mental game   Important Questions [00:04:46] How many years have you been competing?  [00:10:17] What exactly keeps you motivated other than your faith?
