Description

The boomerang effect is when your attempt at changing behavior has the opposite effect from the desired behavior. In other words, it’s when your tactic (in marketing campaigns or social experiments) backfires on you.   Today’s article discusses three factors (constructive, destructive, reconstructive) and how they impact the energy consumption of suburban residents on a day by day and long term basis. Through this experiment, researchers proved the true power of social norms and showcased the importance of being careful and cautious in messaging.   Did you know that our writing can backfire when we overreach and layer on information? As copywriters, we don’t want our writing to have a boomerang effect. We don’t want to cause people to hear what we write/say and take the opposite action. Listen in to learn how to counteract that boomerang effect.    Don’t forget to check out my 6P group coaching program, a 6 week group coaching cohort where you’ll learn the same email campaign that I write for my clients.
