#PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click. This is a model of payment for #digital #advertising, where the advertiser pays a fee every time their ad is clicked. Depending on the fee for the click, the profit can vary from a net loss to a very generous gain, but it all depends on your target audience, as well as how optimized your ad is for the search engine. Programs like #Google #AdWords (or just Google Ads) use an auctioning system.

It works sort of like this-- Your ad is thrown into a hat with many other ads and appears in a user's search result. This is far from random though, as whether or not the ad appears depends on many, many different aspects, like ad quality, and more importantly, target audience and keywords, as well as your bid, and how high you're willing to bid. While more money may mean more clicks, this isn't completely the case, as many different factors you control can grow the chances that your ad will appear.
