Description

Today, I speak with IFBB Pro Kimberly Gier, a registered nurse, trainer, and baker! She fell in love with competing after her husband convinced her to give it a try and turned pro after 14 shows! At her first Pro show, she had to compete on a severely sprained ankle. Despite her injury she made the decision to push through and worked with her doctor to make a plan to still train and compete. Kimberly talks about how the last 18 months have been a whirlwind for her with moving, getting married, switching coaches, having a revision of her breast augmentations, getting a new job, starting her own business, her husband having an accident, all while she was competing to turn Pro. Because she switched coaches right before getting married, she followed her intuition with food on her wedding day and her mini honeymoon. Kimberly firmly believes in appreciating big moments in life because there will always be another show but not another wedding day. All throughout her competitive career, Kimberly has prioritized her relationship with her husband.  Even through preps, she has managed to still go on date nights and do different activities with her husband. He doesn’t compete but is very involved with fitness. Competing has helped Kimberly find self-confidence and love herself for the first time. Overtime, her reasons for competing have changed, especially after switching coaches. She credits her coach, Casey, with helloing her shift her mindset. Kimberly shares so much about having a positive mindset and balancing life with competing. Don’t miss her interview! Topics covered include: -you versus you -learning to lose -having the Pro mindset -prepping and competing with an injury -dealing with big life events -Having clear priorities and boundaries -Prioritizing relationships -Loving herself for the first time -Becoming self-aware -Competing as a creative outlet -Transitioning careers -Setting goals CONNECT WITH CELESTE: Website: http://www.celestial.fit Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/celestial_fit/ All Links: http://www.celestial.fit/links.html CONNECT WITH KIMBERLY: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kimberlygier_ifbbpro/ Baking business: https://www.instagram.com/kgssweettreats/ TIME STAMPS [1:00] Introductions [4:25] Competing as pro [7:00] Learning to lose [9:20] The road to her first pro show [15:30] Prepping and competing with a sprained ankle [22:50] Dealing with big life events and her husband’s accident [30:40] Getting married while prepping [36:40] Prioritizing relationships [42:50] How she got into competing and finding confidence [47:40] Working on self-awareness [56:40] Why she chooses to compete [62:01] Competing as a creative outlet [68:50] Working as a trainer [75:00] Advice for competitors CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE FOOD RELATIONSHIP COACHING SERIES CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE POST SHOW BLUES COACHING SERIES LEARN MORE AND APPLY FOR MY 5 WEEK FOOD RELATIONSHIP HEALING & DISCOVERY COACHING PROGRAM FOR OTHER FREE RESOURCES, LIVE EVENTS, AND WAYS TO WORK WITH CELESTE CLICK HERE
