Description
Postpartum mood disorders are at an all time high for parents across the United States. Despite this fact the issue is still one that isn't spoken about enough. Many mothers struggle with feelings of shame and isolation because they think they are the only ones experiencing the pain of a postpartum mood disorder diagnosis. In this episode Brandi speaks with mother and therapist Alyson Hempsey about her own experience with postpartum mood disorders and the system she has developed to help all mothers alleviate the stress of these diagnoses and maybe even help prevent them altogether Alyson is a mama, psychotherapist, and coach who helps mamas feel like themselves again using her proprietary “eMBRACe” model - a holistic framework to help mamas thrive in motherhood. She also co-hosts the motherhood podcast, “No Mama Left Behind,” with Dr. Marcy Crouch. You can connect with Alyson on Instagram, Facebook, or visit her website here. If you or someone you know is having a psychiatric emergency, contact 911 or your trusted personal physician.
