It’s Steve, and I’m back once again. If you have been following my story you know that we have finally defeated the South Meadow Zombies. Or, at least we have defeated the bulk of their army.

The terrifying Commander, a burnt-looking wither skeleton, has survived and I have no doubt that he is rebuilding his army as we speak. For some reason he is determined to seize control of our village, and we have been doing everything in our power to prevent him from achieving this goal.

At the moment, however, Alex, Larry, and I have a more pressing problem that we need to focus on solving.

What we did not realize was that throughout the battle several villagers, four to be exact, had become infected with the zombie virus. Their skin has turned a dingy green and they seem to have lost all control of their behavior. They are a danger to themselves as well as to the other villagers.

We have trapped them in the Library, much to Larry’s dismay, for the time being. There, they should be protected from the sunlight and dangers of our world. At least, until we can find a way to cure them.

The longer it takes, the less that I can be certain of saving them, and the more time the Commander of the South Meadow Zombies has to gather his forces.

The remaining villagers gathered to join us in developing a plan for curing our infected friends.

I had hoped that the cleric might have had a handful of potions that we could test on the zombified villagers, but his magical skills are limited to enchanting items, not brewing potions.

This has led us to our first problem. Brewing.

No one in the village seems to have any ideas about how to begin that process, let alone which ingredients to utilize for a potion that might heal our villagers.

Alex has only collected potions, never created them, and I can barely make mushroom stew without causing a catastrophe.

That leaves us with one option. We must find a witch.

    ***

Alex had distinctly remembered a witch hut in the jungle near her fortress home. We located the structure only to find that it has been abandoned for some time. There were even spider webs growing inside of it.

This is strange, Alex said. "I’ve never seen an empty hut like this. Someone has removed everything that the witch usually leaves
