    Swear

    What do you think about obscenity?  Over the years, I have gone back and forth, though now I accept obscenity.

    Some people consider swearing immoral.  Others claim swearing is a sign of low intelligence.  Religionists call certain forms of swearing blasphemy.

    As the saying goes, like most good things, swearing has its time and place; we can enjoy it in moderation.

    Refined people don’t swear, but fuck them, because like I mentioned above, repressing your inner wild animal will prevent you from experiencing some of the best things in life.  Overly refined people limit themselves as Jungian analysts suggest this repression makes them uptight. 

    If other body parts can excrete filth, why shouldn’t your mind?  The human experience involves impurity, so we shouldn’t repress the form of mental excretion known as swearing.

    I’ve celebrated swearing.  I have written poems and satire about the importance of swearing and how we ought to swear.  So hey, maybe I have done my part.

    I don’t swear every other word, because if I did, swearing would lose its power, as some say people swear to emphasize things and that would indeed demonstrate a low
