About this ebook

This is a book of poetry written with simplicity but
describing human behavior and how individuals
realistically think. For many reasons we are unable
or do not know how to express whats in our inner-
most depths. This writing poetically articulates the
depths and flow of human thought.

To everything there is a rhythm, and the contents of
this book, in a poetic manner, are describing emotions,
feelings and thoughts we all harbor but do not express,
adding to the psychological burdensome luggage we
journey through life with - SKELETONS IN YOUR CLOSET.

Author

Bryce Wellington Rhymer

Bryce Wellington Rhymer was born in Plainfield, NJ and grew up in and around New York City. After spending time in reform schools and prison, Bryce went on to become a (somewhat) conformed member of society. A retired secretary, Bryce currently resides in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands with his wife Deborah, spending much of their time on Coki Point Beach. Bryce enjoys distant swimming, playing chess, cycling, studying human behavior, and of course writing poetry. **** Skeletons are very interesting They are dead but yet alive They are unresolved problems We attempt to bury yet they still survive.

    SUMMARY

THIS BOOK IS DEDICATED IN MEMORY OF MY MOTHER

    RENA FELICIA RHYMER

    (TIPPY)

    INTRODUCTION

This book of poetry is written as a result of the many life experiences I have lived through, together with much meditation. It has been so therapeutic for me to be able to verbally express much of my thinking in a healthy and artistic manner. It is also one of my many blessings.

I also consider it a blessing to be able to express poetically what many people think but for many, many reasons are unable to express. In these stressful and lonely times it is more important than most people are aware of to have a healthy and logical channel to express the many thoughts and feelings inside of ourselves rather than have skeletons in our closets.

Through my poetic expressions I also focus on the development of our God-given strengths, which will help you avoid the many games in life that are commonly played on people, i.e., the preacher, the politicians, etc . . . . It is important that we realize that we are all children of God and each one of us is endowed with natural, boundless strengths that we are unaware of. Inside yourself you will find all that you need for the short and beautiful journey through this life.

I hope that from my literary efforts you will gain more insight about yourself and the world around you.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I thank God for allowing me to live such a wonderful and blessed life. I also thank my my mother for leaving me in such a comfortable state which enabled me to enhance and enjoy my life as I presently do.

I am also happier and grateful for my wife, Debi, entering my life and helping me to bridge many troubled waters. Her support and overall assistance was invaluable in general, and in the finalization of this book.

Each waking day I automatically dwell in a meditative manner on the many things in my life that I have to be grateful for. I never had the remotest idea that I would write, and have a book of poetry published in my name. I consider myself a very blessed Black man.

    A BAD CONSCIENCE

    A conscience is a reminder

    That never goes away

It can haunt you throughout life

    In a terrible, uncomfortable way.

    It’s a recorder of events

    You would like to forget

    But somehow it’s always there

And just won’t let you rest.

    Engulf yourself in activities that

Will hasten sleep at close of day

    As your body slumbers throughout

    The night the nagging conscience

    Still has its way.

    Interesting thing
