About this ebook

"The Lies behind the Truth" will take you on a journey, a journey of self-exploration. The book is dedicated to all those people who were lead to believe that the manifestation of happiness, health, or abundance was not attainable. It's also for those who have struggled to live up to the expectations of others, expectations we've allowed them to set for us, instead of charting our own destiny, our own greatness, and our own happiness.

By reflecting back on his own life, Randy Kolibaba will show you how your current thoughts and beliefs can truly influence what you experience and manifest into your life. Randy will also show you how easy it is to make a positive change in your life by simply starting to look at what you're thinking.

    Acknowledgment

F IRSTLY, I WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I’ve been so fortunate to have been blessed with so many incredible people coming into my life. It’s because I’ve been so blessed, I felt compelled to share a life long journey with you, the public.

I owe most of my success to the relationship I had with my beloved mother, Rose Kolibaba, to whom shared so much wisdom and compassion. To the mother of my children, Susan, who truly was a Teacher for me, and to my two beautiful children, Jason and Jennifer, I want to thank you for being in my life and allowing me to share this journey with you.

    Preface

E VERY ONCE IN AWHILE A PERSON WAKES up. When they do, the story of their lives seems to flash before them. It’s then that the never ending questions seem to arise. Why am I here? Why have things happened the way they did in my life? Is this the best life has to offer? Why are some people luckier? Why can’t I be rich? And on and on the questions go…

Whether it was having to take a man’s life during the line of duty in what was considered a fight to the death, or seeing a young boy who suffered a horrific fate because of a post war experience, or feeling like I was in a never ending, no win battle for fairness and equality with management of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, I will show you how I, yes I, was responsible for all those things that happened to me, both good and bad.

This book is dedicated to all those people who were lead to believe that the manifestation of happiness, health or abundance was not attainable. It’s also for those who have struggled to live up to the expectations of others, to whom we’ve allowed to set for us, instead of charting our own destiny, our own greatness, our own happiness.

I believe that deep within us is the desire—the wanting—to be happy, to be healthy, to be prosperous, and to be an agent of change in our own life, as well as the lives of those around us.

Life truly is a gift…I’m here to say to you, don’t waste that precious gift. What we’re experiencing every second of our lives is truly what we, ourselves, choose our experiences to be. Never forget, there are no Do overs or no Rewind buttons in life. The sooner we all realize it, the quicker we can start to manifest the life we have dreamed of and desired.

This book is all about how I shaped my destiny and learned from so many different experiences, which I was responsible for manifesting in my life.

I don’t profess to be a psychologist or scientist; however, I know that we’re more than what we think we are. We need to take control of our lives in order to experience the incredible beauty and wonder of a life beyond what we think we know. Reverend Michael Beckwirth once said, Too many people are living in a prison that they themselves have manifested

I honestly feel that ALL of the things that happened to me were the direct result of a divine, Omni-present source working with my thoughts, and what I’ve come to understand were my habitual ways of thinking.

I believe there are only three basic lenses to which we all view life. Based on which ever lens we’ve been using, is how we will rationalize or process what we are experiencing. The three lenses are:

    a) Scientific Lens – This is the type of Lens where an individual employs a body of establish methods to prove or support their beliefs. Basically, they need hard facts to believe something.

    b) Spiritual Lens – This is the Lens to which the individual’s beliefs are separated from religion, but is a blend of thinking of humanistic psychology and esoteric traditions all centered on self help and well being.

    c) Religious Lens - This is the Lens that an individual employs wherein they base their beliefs on various religious teachings only.

Although I was baptized as a Catholic, I’ve never been religious. I’ve become deeply spiritual in my understanding of how life works, and how we can manifest what we desire by simply understanding a few basic principles.

The first principle of manifestation for me is that we must all understand that our thoughts are energy. Also, our thoughts not only influence what goes on inside of us, but they also affect the physical reality around us.

There’s an ancient Buddhist quote "You are what you think about…and with your thoughts you make the world". Whether you choose to look through a religious or spiritual or scientific lens, it’s been established countless times that the power of thought truly does influence our lives, either for the good or the bad

The second basic principle of manifestation comes from the understanding that we don’t manifest things or events into our life THAT WE WANT…rather, we manifest into our lives the things THAT WE ARE!!!!…In essence, what you put out, you will get back….If you’re always angry and full of jealousy and hate, Life or the Universe will respond by providing you those types of experiences.

If you’re full of love, forgiveness and gratitude that’s exactly what you will experience, because that simply is the Universal Law of Attraction.

The third basic principle for manifestation is to always think from the end…Never lose sight of your desire, and truly feel like what you desire has already manifested. I know that might sound corny, but it’s true…If you’re always thinking lack, guess what…that’s exactly what the universe will provide you in the way of an experience. You need to think and feel the health or wealth you desire.

When people and / or circumstances seem to appear in your life, it’s for a reason, and it may require you to take action in order to fulfill your desire.

The last principle to manifestation is that you have to come to a very deep appreciation and understanding that we’re all connected as one in this incredible universe. With that said, there’s more than enough of what you’re seeking for everyone. Never be worried there won’t be enough of what you’re looking for…that’s simply not true.…

When I look back on my five decades of life, I finally realized that there was something or someone moving the pieces around for me in this great game of life. People coming into my life and / or events occurring throughout my life didn’t happen by coincidence; they were meant to happen. Whether good or bad, the events or circumstances have allowed me to develop and grow to better understand why we’re here on earth.

Life is not meant to be a struggle; it’s not meant to be pushed. Life should be something we experience and enjoy in harmony with the Universe.

While the circumstances and events are put into our lives for a reason, it’s the individual who’s responsible for choosing how to respond to them. Every minute we choose to be angry, scared, full of hate, or jealousy, it’s an incredible price to pay. It’s time that’s irreplaceable—and gone forever. If you take for granted this gift of time that’s being offered to you, you’ll wake up one day only to find out it’s too late. Then, all you’ll really have is a lifetime full of regret.

In Leo Tolstoy’s The Death of Ivan Ilych, a Russian High Court judge seemingly had a great life. Ivan Ilych appears successful by all stretches of the imagination, but in reality Ilych was not happy. He wasn’t happy with his life and he hated his wife. He felt that she was responsible for him becoming what he was, and consequently he was not able to truly fulfill his destiny.

At the age of forty-five, Ilych fell while hanging curtains and was seriously injured. Although he was treated by doctors, the injuries were getting worse with every passing day; Ivan Ilych was dying.

In the last few days of his life Ilych realized that he was going to die; there was nothing anyone could do to help. As the story goes, minutes before death Ilych finally sees that he has not lived his life well. Sadly, he realized that he had only lived his life for himself. With only a few precious moments left, Ilych started to feel self-pity and remorse for wasting his life. Worse yet, he felt badly for how he treated those around him.

Seconds before Ivan Ilych dies, a family member makes the comment, He’s gone to which Ivan whispers to himself No, death has gone and then dies.

After reading the story a couple of times, I drew the grim comparison: like Ilych, I wondered what if I was wrong all my life? Sadly, I can now say I wasn’t enjoying my life. I was always striving to become more and to have more. I hadn’t appreciated the first five decades of my life as being a gift, nor the wonderful and supportive family I had.

I don’t want, nor do I want others, to be lying on their death bed waiting to draw their last breath and feeling that they’ve lived life all wrong.

A lot of what I will disclose in this book centers on what I’ve come to understand about what our beliefs and habitual thinking can really do for us. I need to share this thought with you; and hopefully get you thinking. When circumstances or events, good or bad, show up in your life, it’s because YOU (yes, that’s right, YOU) manifested them.

Whether we know it or not, we create a concept of our own reality. What happiness is, or what love should be, we create that concept. Some people, like me, end up associating happiness or love with disappointment because of old habitual ways of thinking.

When I would eventually get to experience what I considered to be happiness or love, memories of pain and disappointment would emerge. For decades I never understood why; all I believed was that those feelings of pain or disappointment were something I could never change. As a result of that flawed way of thinking, my beliefs adversely affected my family and myself.

I believe we build a perception of how we see the world. What a lot of people ultimately do is create a faulty picture of how the world truly is. That faulty picture can, and usually does, cause us nothing but more pain, sorrow or disappointment.

When I came to understand how much control I had over my life and what I could manifest, not only did I start to realize and appreciate the incredible gift of life, but I was even capable of manifesting abundance and happiness simply by changing how I thought. When I changed how I looked at things, the Universe reacted by providing events and circumstances that enabled me to manifest my desires.

This concept of understanding that we are what we think is not new. Actually, it’s been known to civilization for thousands of years and we can find that proof in a number of different religious texts. However, for whatever reason, that information wasn’t taught to us in school.

We’ve all read of people who have Made it big and we’ve all wanted to be those people. What this book will do is show you that when we truly focus our thoughts and feelings on our wishes and dreams, we can ALL have a life of comfort.

Even more importantly, we can and must share that knowledge to help ourselves and others experience health, prosperity, peace and harmony.

I really like the eloquent quote which came from Dr Wayne Dyer’s movie "The ShiftNo matter at what stage of life you’re at, or how old you are, no matter where you are, you can always change if you simply change the way you think".

It’s with this understanding and new found appreciation that I wish to share what I have learned and experienced so that everyone can hopefully enjoy happiness, health and abundance.
