This is a collection of some of my poems. At times when my mind gets heavy and situations are not easy to handle, I find myself with a pen and paper in hand; I allow my innermost feelings to flow out onto the paper. Writing is a form of expression. Some of these poems were inspired from past relationships, life experiences, or merely reflection of the current trend of today's youth as compared to the past generations. I hope you enjoy! OneLuv was born and raised in the Midwest, a couple hours south of Chicago. She recently relocated to the east coast to continue her graduate studies. OneLuv has a God-given passion to encourage, empower, and educate today’s youth. She has worked with troubled youth and young adults for the past ten plus years, writing has been one of her passions since the tender age of ten. Her writings have been the result of her life’s experiences. OneLuv’s desire to work both directly and indirectly with youth and their families has prompted her to do the work she does, counseling, mentoring, and preparing youth for the road ahead. She realizes that everyone needs someone, even those that feel as if they do not! Enclosed is a compilation of poems about her experiences and what prompted these experiences. It focuses on life, love, and relationships. It is what she likes to call, "Verbal Visualizations"; her vivid thoughts in the written word. She hopes that this will help someone to continue to persevere despite adversity. Life isn’t about receiving; it is about giving, she wants to give the world a taste of her world and help those that may be going through experiences similar to hers.
