Jane Lyde

Janae Lyde, a native of New York, is a former Division I and II women’s basketball player for the University of North Alabama. Janae graduated from the University of North Alabama with a B. S. and M.S. in Sport Management, and a MBA in Sales and New Business. She is currently working on her Doctorate of Business Administration in Higher Education from Trevecca Nazarene University. Janae serves with the athletic department at North Alabama as the Assistant Athletic Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She also worked as an adjunct faculty member for both the College of Business and College of Education and Human Sciences, instructing multiple undergraduate courses.

As a young woman, I would not be where I am today if it was not for the prayers and love of a few individuals throughout my journey. My journey would not be a journey, had these individuals not continued to pray for my strength to make it through any obstacles.

This book is dedicated to my father and mother, John and Cassandra Lyde. My biggest supporters, advocates, and prayer warriors. They are my stronghold and foundation, and that is the reason I have been able to push through so many situations that I feel could have knocked me out. To my brothers, Damien, Jamel, and Jaylen, thank you for being hard on me and challenging me through life. Your support and love for your sister means more than you will ever understand.
