Author

Dr Aaron Bryant

After his first book, he received multiple accolades of success and enormous positive feedback. Dr. Bryant took that motivation to respond to the audience by taking a risk and writing in a style that would change his approach to writing this book.   With mental health being a concern for many ages, Dr. Bryant wanted to speak directly to the reader and provide real-life guidance, transparent communication, and examples, unlike anything he had written before.   Dr. Bryant's experience in the military and business has given him a front-row seat to some of the most intense situations and circumstances that create trauma and anxiety for almost anyone. This is why he has trained and expanded his coaching skills to become a Developmental Coach and Mental Health Advisor. Some may say he is an expert in his field – but that is a term he is not comfortable with. He would argue that mental health is not a field that any person will ever completely understand. Therefore, consistent research and ongoing learning tools will be the key to supporting his diverse clients. He has spent hundreds of hours and resources committed to providing guidance and awareness to mental health. While supporting veterans and first responders, his efforts have transitioned to people of all ages who have experienced trauma in one form or another.   Today, Dr. Bryant is a Co-Founder of a healthcare consulting firm that provides specific resources for improving their client's internal growth for profit and performance. In addition, when he is not teaching one of his university courses, he provides developmental coaching that emphasizes personal growth to achieve success in interpersonal relationships, mental health, and career development.

Mental Health - Dr Aaron Bryant

    RIP Dedications

To my little brother, Ardale. If your spirit was transferable, we could end suicide, among others.

To my cousin, Kenny. I know you are making others around you laugh with enthusiasm.

To my US Army Ranger and MC (KMS) brother, Kenny. I will always remember our late-night conversations.

    ...and

To all the soldiers, first responders, and family members who lost someone.

    ––––––––

The fault is not our own.

The blame is not on them.

The decision will never be clear.

And the outcome cannot be reversed.

But what they did was give us the awareness to protect others.

    Dr. Aaron P. Bryant

    PROLOGUE

If you are reading this book, I want you to understand two things:

    1) you are not alone, and

    2) I am you!

    Yes, I am a writer.

I am also a professor, a coach, a doctor, and many other titles with letters behind my name based on education and training. However, the most important education I could acquire was developed on my own.

Not because I am smarter than the psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, life coaches, and other licensed and/or certified practitioners, all of whom are in the field of assisting people. Some have even attempted (and are presently attempting) to help me overcome the challenges that plague me.

No...I am not smarter than them; that is not what I am saying.

The development of my education was because I decided once upon a time to put forth the effort to understand myself.

I took all the sessions, advice, counseling, and any other directive and/or opportunity that appeared logical...and chose what applied to me. Why?

Because only I know myself, and no person can tell me how I feel.

Sure...many may be able to relate or may have been involved in similar circumstances. However, we all have our stories that make us uniquely different. The interesting thing is that trauma can come from similar situations...but it is the makeup of who we are that challenges our mental status to overcome it.

    I am not your therapist.

    I am not your doctor.

    I am not your psychiatrist.

What I am...is a supporting victim of trauma that will share tools, data, and warnings to assist you in making it to the next day...month...and years to come.

Like myself, I want us to live a prosperous life for ourselves and those who can witness our achievements.

    ––––––––

MENTAL BALANCE is about looking into yourself, collecting information around you, and finding out how to apply it. Although I tend to reference military veterans and first responders, it is my purpose to share with all people with traumatic backgrounds.

‘Trauma’ may be a term we all use, but the people behind these challenges are very different. So please take what you can...and use it to YOUR advantage.

As a CONVERSATIONAL BOOK, I am talking to you as the reader...as if speaking to you in person. I hope you will feel my words and understand the
