About this ebook

in my book, I explore mental health issues, spirituality and some mindfulness, drawing on my experience and research. I'm offering a holistic approach to healing and growth that has worked for me and can work for anyone with the correct determination.

I begin by examining the stigma and challenges of mental health with ways to cope and how spirituality can provide a supportive framework for self-care, self-acceptance and connection to something greater than yourself.

I delve into various spiritual principles that I have found helpful, including meditation, love and self-love, and how they can complement and enhance traditional mental health treatments.

Throughout the book, I emphasise the importance of taking a kind and individualised approach to mental health and spirituality, encouraging the reader to explore their beliefs, mind and experiences without fear - you're never alone.

    About the Author

    Introduction

Minds are beautiful and mysterious. I've always wanted to be able to put someone else in my mind.

    Like literally, yoink

pick you up, put you inside my head.

    Experience life through my eyes.

understand why I do certain things or act

    certain ways.

    lmao

That would be fucking awesome, but unfortunately, I'm not a magician.

I wrote this book to support people who feel alone, helping them realise there's always sunshine in the darkness. I also hope to give a different perspective to people who haven't experienced darkness.

From my experience, I would've wanted similar reassurance so I wouldn't feel so alienated. However, the purpose of this book is to make people aware that they are never alone! You're strong and can get through anything.

This book helps people through the darkness, not allowing it to consume their souls.

A person can be *SURROUNDED*; I emphasise the word ‘surrounded'; someone can be *SURROUNDED* by love, friends, support, family, you name it, but still get consumed by the darkness - not feeling able to speak up, for many reasons.

Which, boom, bam, make them feel alone because they can't share the thoughts eating their mind.

    Minds are huge too

My book is split into three parts :)

    Mental Health,

    Spirituality

and a little bit of mindfulness.

Pick a domain, pick a chapter and enjoy :) this book is designed to be read at any point you choose. You don't have to read back to front in order; you can if you like, though <3

    - the choice is yours always x

Many humans, including myself, have been consumed by the darkness; it is not a great place to be, but I know you can come through to the other side. So, if you're reading this, I hope to show you sunshine on the dark days, helping you to cope and become the star you were born to be.

    - we all deserve to shine.

In memory of Saffron, I love you xx.

I'm grateful for all the individuals I've met and all the experiences we've had together. No matter good or bad, you've helped make my life, and I'm thankful for all of you.

    Emotion

All of us, as humans, creatures too, experience emotion. It is a natural part of life.

    * I'm not a scientist, so you cannot quote me. However, all living things, animals, bugs, humans, and plants, feel basic emotions. Happiness and sadness, at the least. *

    +6

There are six prime emotions; happiness, sadness, anger, fear, surprise and disgust.

Most of the time, we're *consciously* manifesting our emotions through experience. However, our subconscious mind also manifests through experience, hence why people get triggered by repeating actions to do with trauma.

The action triggers an emotion embedded in the person from a negative experience. Being triggered can cause any emotion. However, people usually use the word ‘triggered' when referring to a harmful or sensitive subject.

Most assume that feelings and emotions are the same.

    Incorrect assumption pal

Feelings and emotions are similar but not the same.

When we have feelings, we're doing that consciously within the moment. The difference between feeling and emoting is through chemicals. When you're consciously feeling, chemicals are created and released throughout your body, creating sensations from hormones. So feelings come and go, depending on the hormones travelling through your body.

Whilst emotions are deeply embedded, uniquely, within each person's soul from a young age. When you're consciously emoting, STORED chemicals travel through your body.

Re-read that if you need it; it's a bit confusing.

So, experiences and actions create feelings or trigger emotions, forming our mood within the moment.

All emotions are released uniquely, depending on the person and the surroundings, because they're personal. So emotions, feelings and moods are all unique experiences for each person.

It's straightforward to suppress and ignore emotions for another day, but this causes mental issues.

You learn to be unaware of your emotions, which isn't very good when going into life with relationships and the need for communication.

Not only for you but also for the people you surround yourself with.

Remember that feeling emotion is okay; it's human to communicate with the people around you and share your thoughts.
