The Global Covenant to Protect the Sacred Lives of Children
()
About this ebook
The "Global Covenant to Protect the Sacred Lives of Children", represents my soul's mission to advocate for children and my life's work, to be a voice for children. I want the content of this book to be a global "light" to bring humanity to an understanding of how of the welfare of our children must be our priority. I believe that we can change the world's perspective of "who children are to us", and "what we must do to love and protect them"! I have a dream and I hold a vision that we will "stand up", "speak up", and "show up ", for our children! They deserve the best of who we are. They deserve the fullness of a life filled with loving, attentive, and righteous adults at the helm of their ship on this life's voyage.

I thought it would be more appropriate and carry a positive vibration, to ask the women who have supported me in my work on behalf of children and families, to share their feelings and insight on the mission of this book. Thus, let me introduce you to:
Dr. Patricia Galloway-Banday:
Patricia is my amazing younger sister that is not only my best friend, confident, and partner in crime, but holds a special place in my heart since the day she was born. She not only holds a Master’s in Theology with an emphasis in Counseling but a Doctorate in Psychology. You would be amazed at the gifts she holds. She has taken the time and energy to invest in all kinds of alternative healing tools that enable her to step out of traditional psychology modalities and offer people more innovative and spiritual means to engage in their own healing process. She has touched the hearts and souls of so many students that have come to come to her in in a state of chaos and confusion, looking for a sense of direction and purpose for their lives. Yes, she is one of the big brains in the family with the biggest heart! Patti has seen me through all the ups and downs in life and I know she always has my back. She has been there for me as a single parent and has supported me with my child’s life. Patti has been the force that has motivated-pushed me to accomplishing the things in my life that have come to fruition. From being my book editor to the program director of my Podcast. I can’t imagine what my life would have been like without the love and support of My Patti
.
Sargent Nicole Evans:
My beautiful daughter both inside and out! Niki has been a highly motivated and energized person all her life. She is a spiritually grounded person that takes her faith and relationship with God into every aspect of her life. Niki is a sort of Pied Piper when it comes to kids and youth. She has run the Youth Cadet Programs for LAPD and has had a huge impact on their lives. She is destined to be a person in service so not only is she a Peace Officer she serves in the United States Coast Guard. Niki and I have had some really big challenges in life and together we are invincible. We have been a team since Niki was 5 years old and experienced the loss of her Dad. The fun part of Niki is that she is a soccer player, surfs, bike rides and dabbles in photography, poetry, and screen writing. What I love about my daughter is her thirst for the fullness of life. Niki and I have a very special Mother daughter relationship based on unconditional love, respect, and mutual admiration. I am such a blessed mom!
Leilani Banday-Akau:
Leilani is my sister Patti’s daughter. She holds the keys to the spiritual texture of our family’s lives. She is the most amazing artist, poet, media specialist, and the creator of women’s spiritual healing circles. She is the epidemy of Earth Mother
. She has birthed the most wonderful children who she is raising with the intuitive skills of motherhood. She has captured the hearts and spirits of so many people whose lives she has touched throughout her childhood to adulthood. She is evolving every day in her divine work and life’s purpose
. It has been a gift and privilege to walk in the light of her journey and to reap the benefit of her personal development. There have been so many of life’s lessons that have had the opportunity to witness and be blessed by in my own life’s journey because of her. It is a blessing to be blessed by the children in our families. They hold the keys to an imagination that is beyond belief, but not beyond our ability to catch the stardust from their flight.
Robin Gilliam:
Robin is my sister Lark’s daughter. She is a bright light that has the most contagious smile. She is also an artist, equestrian, with a love for horses and children. Her dream is to operate a program for children, youth, and horses. She knows that there is a real connection between them that can be a life changing relationship. Robin attended USC for her B.A. in Fine Arts and attended Harvard University to study Landscape Architecture. She graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a master’s in Public Policy. She is an amazing writer and visionary. Her tender heart has always been an inspiration to me. Robin is currently working in the Non-profit world where she has the opportunity to support public policy for the Arts. I know she has the life force energy to manifest her dreams and her mother is supporting her from heaven.
Kathi Cliff:
What do you say about a person that has been a childhood sister-cousin-friend forever? What do you say about a relationship that has weathered the journey of life for more than 6 decades? What do you say about a relationship that began with the "best friend-sister relationship of two mothers? What can you say about someone that knows you from the beginning? Usually this only happens between birth sisters, but Kathi is an integral part of our whole family. She and I have shared a common mission to be in the service of children and families. I have watched her take her torch to light the way for children on a local and state level. She has built a state-of-the-art child development center that services the children of students on the community college system. Kathi has mentored so many parents and students that her life’s impact is felt across the city of Los Angeles and the State of California. She has been that influencer that has support me in my work. She has always been there when I ventured into new horizons. She has made me feel that I can do anything that I set my heart and mind to. I know that she is in my corner.
Kaci Sewell:
Kaci, Kaci, Kaci! Kaci is Kathi’s daughter who I have had the gift of knowing from birth. She is a vivacious, talented, professor in the field of communication and teaches in the State and Community College systems. She is a master at baking, and it is one of her many ways of expressing her creativity. She is my go-to person in terms of my social media hiccups. Kaci is so in touch with her pure untainted soul, that she inspires my ability to express my imagination. You know how they say, stay in touch with the child within you
, that is what Kaci has taught me. She sees the world as full of possibilities that are unrestrictive and accessible to her. Kaci lives life with excitement and a thirst for the unexpected. I wish that it was contagious cause then the world would be a better place to live in.
Rebecca Reynolds:
Becky, as she is fondly called is another childhood friend-cousin-sister! Becky’ Mom and my Mom were besties! My Mom and Becky’s Mom were both in the field of Early Childhood and collaborated and co-created the first Headstart program in Los Angeles. It was so special to have grown up together and even more special that we are still close and intertwined in each other’s life even today. Becky and I do ECE seminars together and she has edited my new book- The Global Covenant to Protect the Sacred Lives of Children. Becky and Patty were and always will be best buddies. I guess I am seen as everybody’s
big sister! What an honor to feel that we are the
Mighty Four Sisters Brigade. I know that Becky is on our team, and I can hardly wait to see what we can all accomplish as a
collaborative"!
Sonia Hylton:
What can I say about my favorite cousin Sonia? Yes, I said it! Sonia has endeared herself to me since I was a teenager and wanted to be a little sister
to someone. She took me under her wing and has been my mentor ever since. She keeps me on task to follow through with my mission. She brainstorms on things I can do to expand my work
and visibility for the work
. There are weekly conversations to check in with each other. Sonia has traveled the world and her perspective on life has had a positive impact on mine. She has passed on the traveling bug to me since going to New York to visit her after high school. I loved her sense of independence and self-confidence, it set the stage for how I wanted to embrace my new world of adulthood. One of the things that Sonia and I have in common is our relationship with family
! I treasure her and the love she invests in her family, which fortunately includes
