Actress Gabrielle Union is no stranger to our screens. After her big movie debut as “Syd” in Bad Boys 2, alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence back in 2003, she has been in leading roles in movies such as The Perfect Holiday (2007), Cadillac Records (2008) and Think Like a Man (2012).
It was, however, her role as Mary Jane in the 2013 hit BET series, that cemented her place in the hearts of South African women. Mary is an ambitious Black television anchor who is trying to make her mark in the cut-throat world of TV broadcasting, while also trying to navigate romantic relationships, friendships, and Black family issues and demands.
