THOMAS STEARNS ELIOT was born in St Louis, Missouri, in 1888. He moved to England in 1914 and published his first book of poems in 1917. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1948. Eliot died in 1965.

Assumpta (Amy) Kiang

Assumpta (Amy) Kiang is a Vice President, senior consultant, and senior relationship manager at Bank of America / Merrill Lynch in Newport Beach, California. She has loved the work of T.S. Eliot since studying English literature as an undergraduate and Lecturer at National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan.

Mrs. Kiang has an MBA from California State University, Long Beach, and serves on the board of several community organizations. She established The Wan-Lin Kiang Endowed Lecture Series at the Center for Asian Studies at the University of California, Irvine, in memory of her late husband, Dr. Wan-Lin Kiang, a renowned international scholar and leader in business and investment management, who shared with her a mutual appreciation for T.S. Eliot.

This translation of Eliot’s early poems was her personal passion during COVID-19. She is also a disciplined, daily practitioner of Chinese calligraphy, and enjoys oil painting. She and her late husband have one son, Eliot Y. Kiang.

趙蘭潤

臺大外文系畢業；美國 Marywood University 碩士；加州大學長堤商學院企管研究所碩士（MBA）。曾任臺大講師；美國克里夫蘭城圖書館管理員；臺北美國新聞處圖書館資料參考管理員（Reference Librarian）；美國美林證券副總裁投資顧問。現任美國銀行資深顧問副總裁。定居加州新港市；喜愛文學及藝術。

先夫江萬齡博士，曾任工程師，加州大學教授，新竹交通大學企管研究所所長及臺灣中華開發總經理，並創立漢世紀投資公司，在香港、台北、北京、上海、西安設分公司。因過勞，心臟病突發而英年早逝。為紀念江先生，趙女士在他原藉杭州浙江大學設立金融研究中心（現改為產業投資研究中心）在北京社科院設立博士論文基金及在爾灣加大（UCI）成立江萬齡講座。

江先生和趙女士都崇拜艾略特才華。育有一子，江耀中，英文命名艾略特（Eliot），趙女士在避疫二年間，網上工作之餘，譯註此書，捐贈部分出書給爾灣加大，回謝加大協助成立江萬齡講座，及推廣中華文化。

Peifeng Liang (Patty Yee)

Peifeng Liang (Patty Yee) (illustrations) graduated from Fine Arts College of Shanghai University. In China, she exhibited extensively in selected works shows at the Shanghai Art Museum over 1972-1987, with a solo show there in 1989. Thereafter, she emigrated to the United States. In 1992 and 2003, she held solo exhibitions in Los Angeles. In 2015, she published an album, /Liang Peifeng Paintings/, and a collection of prose essays, /Heart, Soul, and Pen/, prose travel diary /On the Road/to be published in 2023, through American EHGBooks Publishing Company.

In 1997, Liang received the best artist of the year award from the City of Huntington Beach, California and was commissioned to create an art piece for permanent display in city
