Diary of a Piglin Book 18 - Mark Mulle

    Day 1

The trap was set up and ready. Both Wardens have come forward, and started attacking Fogu as soon as they saw him. As for Murray, he remained far from the fight, just watching the trio get into a fierce battle.

Come on, Fogu. You aren’t so tough now, are you? Kalo said, as he kept punching him.

Are you seriously trying to hurt me, or is that all you’ve got? Fogu laughed. He was trying to make them angry at him, to force the two Wardens to get distracted during the battle.

You haven’t seen a fraction of my power. If I show you all I got, there will be no story to tell. Kalo smiled. You pretend to be all tough Fogu, but it’s all in vain. Do you know who’s the strongest around here? It’s me! I can defeat you all by myself.

Then why did you bring your sister with you? Are you afraid of not being able to take me down?

Joke all you want, stupid Warden. We’re going to wipe the floor with you.

Easy there, brother. Tera interrupted, while Kalo grabbed Fogu by the neck. We don’t want this party to be over too soon. Remember everything this old Warden made us go through. We must make him suffer ten times. Understand?

Yes, sister, you are absolutely right. Kalo dropped Fogu on the ground. Fogu rolled around, trying to get back on his knees. The first few attacks had already hurt him pretty badly, but Fogu pretended as if it didn’t.

No matter how much power you two gather from the Lightning Rods, you are still weaklings. Fogu laughed.

Kalo tried moving forward to punch him again, but Tera stopped him in his track.

Don’t mind him. He’s obviously teasing us. First, we need to find out what is going on around here. Tell us, Warden. Where are the others? Tera asked.

They went off to look for you but apparently you found us first.

We didn’t detect any other energy in the area when we came here. Surely, they cannot be far away. Tera commented.

Why is that Piglin the only one who stayed behind with you, after all? Why would they leave such a weak creature to stand guard with a Warden? Wouldn’t it make more sense to leave a dragon or a human? Kalo wondered.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Murray! Tera shouted.

Yes, what is it? He replied, without moving away from his spot near the forest. Murray was a few meters to my left, while Tera, Kalo and Fogu were a few meters in front of me.

Where are the others? Why can’t we detect their energy? It cannot be right. Tera said.

How would I know? Aren’t you two the almighty creatures, capable of detecting other energy from miles away? Murray replied.

Yes, but we cannot feel anything around here.

    So? Murray asked.

Make yourself useful and go search for them. Can’t you see we are a little busy here? Tera commanded.

Hey, have some respect. Don’t talk to me like I’m some sort of subordinate! Murray complained.

Tera instantly jumped over to his side, and stared at him.

What are you going to do, then? Are you going to hurt us if we keep it up like this? Tera grinned.

Yes. I’ll make you two pay. Remember, I still have full control over your power. I can take it all away from both of you! Murray shouted.

Then go ahead, human. Do it. I will give you the chance. Tera extended her arm towards Murray and stayed still. Murray didn’t do anything, and instead went on his way to search for the others.

These Wardens are getting too cocky for me. Murray commented.

I can hear that. I am pretty sure everyone could hear that. Tera said.

It wasn’t supposed to be a whisper! Murray complained.

Do your job and stop complaining so much. We are achieving exactly what you always wanted, isn’t that right? We are the result of your hard work. So, smile, Murray! We are the realization of your wildest dreams. Tera mocked him.

Yeah right, more like nightmares. Murray went into the forest to look for the other members of our group. I wasn’t really worried about him, because I knew Murray would never find anyone, even with his fancy devices. Franz’ magnetic field was far stronger than anything Murray could ever hope to create.

Alright, where were we? Tera went back to Fogu, where she kicked him twice in the back.

Ouch… Fogu was already kneeling on the ground. He was no longer able to hide the pain, there wasn’t much left for him to do, other than to buy some more time. The Wardens had not fallen for the trap yet.

Hang tight, Fogu! Our friends will come to save you! I shouted.

Yeah right, as if they would be able to save him now. Kalo laughed. Speaking of which, what are you doing here, Piglin?

Kalo started walking towards my direction. It was our chance to take him down!

    Kalo, wait. Tera said.

    What is it, sis?

I don’t know, but something is not right. That Piglin is just standing there like a statue. It must be a trap of some sort. Tera said.

So what if it’s a trap? I would love to see them even try. Besides, we are far stronger than any machine or creature. Nothing can stop us now, sis. What are you afraid of?

Yes, maybe you are right. Even if Fogu sent those idiotic Warden friends of his to attack us, we would be able to dispatch them quickly. We have become stronger since the last time we met. Tera ordered with a smile on her face. Go on, then. Take down the Piglin as well. We are not going to let anyone escape.

No, leave the Piglin alone! I am the one you want! Fogu said.

Too bad. We’re going to take you both. Tera declared.

Kalo started towards me. Was it our chance to capture him at long last?

    Day 2

Kalo walked up to me and stopped some six blocks away. He was close to the Command Block trap, but still not close enough to be captured. Fogu knew it, and he had to stand the attacks for a little longer. We couldn’t let the plan go to waste, but it pained me to see my friend suffering for so long.

What’s the matter, Piglin? Why do you stand over there and do nothing to stop us? Kalo asked.

How could I? You two are far too strong and fast for me. I am but a Piglin from Crimson City. Somehow, I had to make Kalo come closer to me, without sounding too scared or obvious that I was setting him up. I had to speak and distract them.

I don’t care where you came from, Piglin. Kalo said, taking one step forward. He was five steps away now from the trap. If he walks forward three more blocks, the trap will capture him.

I know it doesn’t matter, but I just thought you should know. After all, you two Wardens have been fighting your way through this world for a few months now. You only have each other to trust. You are doing this because you cannot go back home. There is no such a place as ‘home’ now because your home is gone. Isn’t that right?

Kalo remained silent for a few seconds. For a moment, I thought I had gone too far. Maybe I shouldn’t have spoken so much about their home? Suddenly, Kalo turned towards his sister and said, Sis, I think he is right!

    What?

"This Piglin may be a bit crazy, but he’s right. We are doing all of this not because we like destruction and chaos. We’re doing this as revenge for what Fogu and his Wardens did to us. You have a good point, despite
