    You Get Me

Mind racing, heart beating out of my chest…how do you know me so well

I look in your eyes I see me looking back

We share intimate moments & could swear we are one…giving myself to you is so easy…you get me

Lying in your arms, the world melts away

Listening to your heartbeat beneath my ear and I know you were made just for me

You say my name and my private spaces call for your touch…you get me

Conversations touching so many places in the universe is only one gift. You take me on a ride, hanging on tight so not to miss a word or gesture. Wisdom from on high spills from lips Perfection you do not proclaim however strive for it you do…you so get me

Daily challenges plague you and you share them with a friend. Your concerns & fears whisper to be tucked away on the pages of my heart with honor. Trust & loyalty shield you & protect from the world. Honor & respect the weapons used to take on countless foes. The mask in place when needed, but which one do I wear now? Yeah, you get me

At my side you stand, ready for war at a moment’s glance…fight, fight, we do it all the time to see who loves the other more. You have blessed me in so many ways, the cosmos may never know, but rest & always know you GOT ME from the word go…cause you get ME!!!

    Veils

    Erected protection

Walls to guard me or protect you

Mystery in my eyes will draw you in

Cut your throat if you play games within

Stand behind a wall of secrets

    Bodies rest before I fall

    Danger in the darkness

    No soldiers do I call

Wrestling with demons & angels too

    Facing another battle

    Not sure what to do

    Bloody, scared yet going through

    You think you know me

Through the dark places I have been

    I’ll wear the veils today

    Hiding the pain, no misery

However at the end of the day I claim the victory

    Tomorrow not promised to none

    Today is my blessing

    Says I already WON

    WHERE DO I GO
