The sounds of the party were muffled by the door to the kitchen. Natalia stood in front of the sink, staring out the window at the back of the house as her boyfriend Jacob cooked dinner for them on the grill. She was supposed to be helping him get everything ready, but instead, she'd been drawn inside the house—into a room filled with music and people.

Natalia and Jacob had a great relationship: They loved spending time together, they could talk about anything, and when they made love, it was incredible. But something just felt off. Their sex life wasn't as good as it used to be, and that bothered Natalia more than she wanted to admit.

She watched as a man approached Jacob around the grill, quickly drawing him into a conversation. His voice carried through the open window, and Natalia smiled as she heard Jacob laugh. The man began to help Jacob grill while he chatted, and soon enough, Jacob was lost in conversation with another guy. They seemed to be deep in an interesting discussion.

Natalia smiled as she stepped away from the window. She grabbed the condiments from the fridge and headed outside to join her boyfriend.

Hey, Jacob said once he spotted her. I thought I lost you in there. He glanced over at the man beside him. This is Dennis. Dennis, this is my girlfriend, Natalia.

Natalia leaned forward and kissed Jacob lightly before turning toward Dennis. Her breath caught in her throat. His eyes were mesmerizing. He was handsome beyond belief, dressed casually in jeans and a button-down shirt that hung loosely on his muscular frame.

Dennis extended his hand and smiled. She reached out and took it, feeling electricity flow through her as their hands connected.
