Milly had been dying to move into The Lodge. It wasn’t only that they’d outgrown the flat. Or that she’d fallen madly in love with the large timber-clad house where they’d have a garden and Noah would have a proper bedroom at last. It was because she hoped moving would sprinkle the sparkle back into her marriage to Spencer.

She looked at him now, puffing as he put Noah’s bed together in his new bedroom, a beautiful room with pale lemon walls.

‘The colour of sunshine,’ Noah had said when he’d viewed it for the first time.

She smiled, thinking what a good feel The Lodge had. Craig, her partner at Walkz4U, was correct when he said, ‘You just know when a house is right, when it’s going to be a home.’
