    Introduction

    ––––––––

According to the Vegan Society, veganism is a set of beliefs and practices that advocate for the elimination of all forms of animal exploitation and abuse for human consumption, whether that be for food, clothing, or any other purpose, and the widespread adoption of cruelty-free alternatives. Veganism is a way of eating in which no animal products are consumed.

In practice, this means avoiding all forms of exploitation of animals, including the consumption of no meat, dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, honey, insects, gelatin, or other products derived from animals, as well as the use of no products tested on animals, the avoidance of any clothing made from wool, leather, fur, or silk, and the financial support of any establishments that engage in the use of animals for entertainment or sport. Despite all these prohibitions, veganism actually promotes positive, sustainable, and healthful dietary and lifestyle alternatives for everyone.

Although there are many causes that inspire people to become vegan, compassion for animals is often at the forefront. Animals are sentient beings because they are self-aware, have the capacity to experience pain and pleasure, and have strong social bonds with others, which they protect fiercely and mourn when they are severed. Animals in animal agriculture are routinely subjected to confinement, forcible separation from their families, reproductive control, mutilation, and death, all of which cause obvious suffering.

Human employees and the environment can both benefit from adopting a vegan lifestyle. In the United States, for example, jobs in slaughterhouses, meat-processing facilities, and animal farms consistently rank among the most dangerous. Animals in distress can be dangerous to employees if they try to flee or break free. The animal agribusiness industry is widely criticized for having extremely low health and safety regulations.

Vegans abstain from eating anything that is not a plant or a fungus (such as mushrooms or yeast). For example, fresh produce, beans, lentils, chickpeas, soy products like tofu and falafel, and hummus are all examples of whole foods. foods made from whole grains (such as those) Seeds and nuts Vegans have access to a vast selection of processed foods, including meat alternatives like burgers and sausages, cheese, yoghurt, sweets, cookies, crackers, chips, pastries, pizza, and many more.
