Being healthy and maintaining an optimal weight has much to do with genetics, what you eat, how much you move, how effectively you manage stress and if you sleep well. But is that the whole story? Some studies suggest that these factors alone cannot account for the explosion in obesity rates over the past few decades. More recent evidence points towards man-made chemicals in our environment that could be the culprits. These obesogenic compounds found in food packaging, cleaning products, cosmetics, personal care products, and even non-stick pots and pans could be making it difficult for people to control their weight, even when they have good eating habits and are active.
