    Introduction

    How do you fit exercise into your hectic schedule? That's as ridiculous as saying there are seven days in a week. First and foremost, you have never exercised or participated in a sport on a regular basis. Second, you've never been a fitness fanatic, and third, you're far too busy to even consider exercise. To put it another way, you're just not into it.

    Of course, your friends rave about the latest fitness craze, but you've seen it too many times: some of them are on the on-again, off-again treadmill / stair master craze, and you wonder why they haven't shed the fat that they're desperately trying to hide. Seeing what your friends go through and not seeing any results, you believe your complete lack of interest is justified.

    You're not in the least bit inclined to perform these circus-like contortions or mindless freestyle strokes in the water. That would only add to your already hectic schedule of balancing family, home, and career. Your exercise consists of these three factors: husband/children/work.

    Before we get into the idea of fitting exercise into your busy schedule, let's start with the concept of self-assessment and then move on to the disease-prevention aspect of exercise.

    Once you've accepted that exercise is good for your health, you can think about how you can incorporate it into your daily life.
