    Introduction

As I sat there, I asked myself, Does the Bible give a practical solution for dealing with emotional baggage?

Many of us have experienced things that have left us scarred for life. Maybe you are scarred with pain in your heart anytime you remember a particular experience, or you are scarred with anger anytime you see that individual who hurt, betrayed, or abused you. You are not alone. We all carry some form of scars in our hearts, and the devil is glad to see us suffer under the weight of the emotional baggage that we carry around with us through life.

We know this is God’s intention towards us as His children because in Matthew 11:28–30, Jesus said, and still says to us till this very second,

Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up my yoke and learn from me. Because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

This Bible verse was the beginning of my journey to find a place of rest, where I
