About this ebook

Simple writings by a pretty simple guy. I have developed my relationship with God over the past few years. This isn't deep pastoral writing here, but rather some simple real life views on how God and what he (she?) means to each of us today. While I am a Christian and proud of it - and this in the Christian section - it really is more about spirituality and being one with the universe; with God; with Jesus.

Introduction and biography – Dec 2014

    Introduction

Thank you for taking a look at this series of devotions and prayers for patience.    I appreciate being able to share my thoughts on life, faith and prayer with you.

This is now the fourth collection I have published.

As for the devotions themselves, those come from a program at my Church, whereby people write devotions and they are sent out on a daily basis.   This is my contribution from 2014.  The words and ideas are my own.    I do not have a significant religious background, so I write what I know best – being Alan Todd.

During this year, it was a bit hard at time.    There were certain times in my life that things that could only be resolved with the passage of time.  You will read a bit more self-reflections here.

I try and be respectful and thoughtful in how I live and how I write.  Hopefully that is in obvious in the writings.

    Biography

I am a happily married man in my forties.  I have a wife and children and in general life is really good.    I enjoy writing and I have made the collection here to share with you.

I was raised in a family that regularly attended Church.  And like so many others, upon being confirmed I fled from organized religion.  Even though I prayed daily and talked with God, my relationship was one way.  I talked and did not listen.  But God understood and waited.

I confess to not knowing a whole lot about the bigger universe, but I am convinced that there is a higher power out there.   So prayer is a big part of my life.  As is Faith.

My wife and I got married in a Church, because it was a good thing for us, but we did not use that moment to go back to Church.  We merely continued what we were doing which was to go to organized services every so often.

Eventually I found my way.  Or rather God helped
