I am in awe the people you are. Strong, wise, loving, caring, and funny people who share their joy, wisdom and love without a thought. Even when all seemed lost and crazy, you gave and still give me so much love and happiness and much to brag about. Dear Reader

The New Burning Bushes is a book I have wanted to share for a long time. Share the extraordinary love I have discovered in my ventures of life of God. It is safe for me to say that I could have found myself sad, angry, confused, disgusted, complaining, alone and addicted were it not the intervention God did into my life. My Burning Bush was the manor He chose to reach out to me and show me I matter to Him. That revelation changed my life, allowing me to share joy, peace, love, grace, mercy, forgiveness. And He teaches me in ways that, like a burning bush, get my attention and hold me spell bound.

I have always enjoyed movies. And it was this media that I was introduced to a sort of parable from a teacher at my church long ago. What he was teaching, on the possible changes of day to day life for the world, and, compounding that concern by showing a literal image done in movie form, what that outcome could look like. How so many in the congregation got it encouraged me to look at movies in a new way. As possible new parables that teach and speak to us about what God continues to speak to us about.

Cookie sums it up best as an advice columnist who hears the cries of many readers on various subjects…

"I would like to give you some advice from years of living a life that may not always seemed blessed, but really has been in so many ways. However, I am just as guilty of not recognizing the blessings.

I collected some favorite movies and paired them to letters I responded to because they were a part of my personal lessons. I believe God delights in teaching us with whatever attracts our attention best. And since He is the Creator of All things, media is one of the tools He can use. So, I hope you find joy and meaning in the lessons and enjoy the fellowship of watching movies with family or friends. But most of all dear friend, hear how much you mean to God."

We can lose sight that we matter to someone, anyone. We feel alone wrapped up in our false lives, sometimes to the point we give up on living. What is the point, no one sees or cares? False images and the lies of others weigh in on our purpose. Yet God reaches out and says to us very plainly…very important words of comfort.

Mine is eggs benedict…

The Great Idea is born.

I will write you a letter…

A S I POUR myself another cup of coffee, I am re-hashing the events of the morning…It was the weekend and I had just hung up the phone from a long, heart hurting call from my daughter Miranda, who has once again crashed in her love life. She is tired, sullen and over whelmed with the words that bubble up in her sadness that once again she feels so alone.

Oh, Lord I need your ear for a moment….as I give a small prayer over my daughters, and realize this could be anyone’s daughter, so I include everyone’s daughters. All of God’s daughters who, one time or another, loose our self-worth because of the heartless words of someone trying to shift blame and cause hurt.

The hardest concept is that I listen to many life issues all day. Writing an advice column for the local paper, "No cookie cutter advice here", I answer concerns from what is the best way to clean my closet? to how to end an abusive relationship?. As a mentor/counselor, I try to find all types of ways to inform or give and encourage women. It is not just empowerment, but self confidence that must be restored. Apparently when we as women are confident and achieving, we draw others in, get things done and make sense of life. Knowing God and Him knowing us, gives us the tools to reach this objective, but, if we are not listening we become like tinkling glass, not showing, even to ourselves, our worth.

So, how do I do this God? How can I talk to my daughter
