Spiritual Breath (Healing Stories for the Heart) is a collection of stories from different authors that share how God healed the pain in their souls and gave them a second chance to experience pure joy in their lives. Thank you to all of the many authors for their contributions and testimonies that are published in this first of many series that will share personal journeys in life. Testimonies of faith are addressed by our authors on divorce, addictions, grief, family problems, marriage problems, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and mental illness. Sharing stories helps all of us connect and know that we are not alone during the trials of our lives. Pouring out our hearts and souls and the willingness to share our own experience is healing to all. We received so many contributions and will use more in later collections to be released. All stories are welcome by sending them to inspire4success@yahoo.com. We also will pray for you and with you as you courageously continue your journey to finding peace and joy in your Spiritual Breath.

Introduction
Joy in My Soul
Life is full of joy, peace, and fulfillment when you let go and let God fill you with gratitude and love for someone else. It takes courage to get over the past failures and disappointments. Knowing that God made you magnificent allows you to refuse to be trapped in the past.
The Bible says no man can take away your joy! Learn to live one day at a time making the most of each moment. God’s timing is perfect. Joy and exuberance for life can be reestablished in our marriages, families, and ourselves with forgiveness. Speaking positive and kind words blesses your spouse and the children. If you want to see a difference in the way your relationship is with your family, begin to praise one another. Tell them that you love them and are very proud of them. Look for their strengths and emphasize their positive qualities.
Forgive yourself for the past failures and poor choices that caused you so much pain. The sooner that we really forgive then the sooner we are on to the next level where God can use us for his Glory.
Forgive and forget as it’s been said before. Knowing God forgives us as we forgive others, keeps us focused on the great things that God has in store for us in the future. In my life, I have made it a practice to wake up daily and humbly thank God for a chance to serve him another day.
Even though there were times when I was drained from the multitude of life’s problems, I thanked him for the chance to serve him that day. Soon, I forgot the misery and focused on the fact that someone needed me that day. I smiled even when there was nothing to smile about because God is my light. Light you face with a smile and it reflects your heart! It also is an inexpensive facelift.
Sometimes I’d smile and serve and then get knocked down. I’d get back up and keep doing good. I learned that God was building character in me and I had to pass the test again. Passing tests should have been easy for me since I was a teacher by profession, but it seemed at times
