From the episode:
Nina Renata Aron: In writing this book I excavated so much of all the bad boy stuff in pop culture, and literature, all the soul songs about it. You know all of this stuff that formed my sensibility was about this kind of desperate love. And it’s hard to get rid of that idea, and I think have—but it’s hard to even know what replaces it.
