About this ebook

Picking up the Pieces: Restoring My Identity After Suffering lays a foundation for all those on their self-discovery journeys. The book breaks down the identity statement: "I am a spirit, living in a body, possessing a soul." Understanding what it means to be a spirit can be liberating, especially when we are faced with negative physical circumstances. Just the thought of being able to transcend our momentary hardships and remain unshakeable in who we are, amidst suffering, can give us hope for a better future.

This book is an offering of healing to those who may find themselves in seasons of fear, confusion, or grief. After reading this book, the reader will gain deeper self-awareness and find strength in who they are!

Lolo Ntshiqa

My love for reading led me to nonfiction books at an early age. I was always curious about the systems of life, and why things are the way they are. This love naturally developed into a passion for writing, and since then, words have become my weapon of choice to cut through the false wisdom we are fed in society, and boldly speak my truth.I am a self-published author of a book about identity consciousness (from a spiritual perspective) titled, Picking Up the Pieces: Restoring My Identity After Suffering.I am also a ghostwriter on a full-time basis, helping other aspiring authors put their thoughts on paper and share their truths. My writing niche is self-help/personal development and I enjoy teaching many seekers like myself about who they are, and the great potential that lies within them.It is an honor to share with you.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to those who are either in or have recently overcome a difficult period in their lives. May this book echo peace in the midst of your pain and may you begin to see the rays of sunshine among the clouds. The trumpet of freedom is sounding, can you not hear it? It is finally time to heal.

    Preface

Let me start by saying that this book was never meant to be a book. I had concluded in my limited mind that it was destined to be an online course, and that was all!

The journey of this book began in August of 2019 after a heart-felt prayer to my Father, where I received the revelation to produce literature and share it with others. He instructed me to teach what I had learned during two years in my life I would like to call "The Famine."

Nothing was inspiring about The Famine when I was in it. I am sure you can sense from its name that it was a time of great stripping away. It was at this time when I came to realize that pain has a pulse.

Pain is an experience we all face in different seasons of our lives. It's embodied by the sufferer and feeds off of the source of life we have within us. Pain shares the very breath we inhale and exhale; it is the intrusive visitor that will open every door in the house and occupy our place of rest.

Throughout this time, everything that could've departed did - except the roof over my head, for which I am truly grateful. My days were full of silence and the consistent eating one does when they are seeking to fill their days with activity.

The story of how I entered my season of testing is not unique. I got there because I decided to pursue a business venture and ditch the corporate environment soon after graduating with my Honors degree. I was looking at my future through the lenses of optimism and self-reliance. I thought to myself, Sis, this will be your big break!

I saw leaving a stable job as an honorable sacrifice I was willing to make for a future I would be proud of one day.

The sacrifice was indeed made, however, not in the manner I could have ever anticipated. It was my first sobering lesson about this thing we call life. The lesson was as simple as this:
