FOREWORD
Last year I did a 3-part Facebook live series called the Me-Tox (a Detox of the Mind). It was pretty good, if I may say so myself. I spoke about incorporating yoga into your every day, changing how you look at numbers in your life (the scale is not always an indication of how fit and healthy you are), meditation and other juicy tidbits of info to get you moving in a different direction. It was time to give some info so you can start to turn away from the general stuff you’ve been reading and grab something that you can apply to yourself.
One size DOES NOT fit all. I felt the need to drive that home with my video series. Did I mention it was pretty good? Anyway, as good as it may be, I felt I needed to go further.

But before we go further, let me make something clear. I’m not here to make you feel good. I am here to give practical advice and knowledge that may make you face your reality and move forward in a way that BENEFITS you. That’s where the goodness comes in. With new knowledge and a nudge in a different direction, your wellness journey is now YOUR responsibility. You are not here to beat yourself up about what you did not know or what you should have done. You start from here. Your journey to wellness will only begin on a good note if you start from right where you are now. Do this with no judgement, just a willingness to be as good (WELL!) as you can be.
Obtaining and sustaining wellness should be the ultimate goal. That is what I hope happens with this book (hey, knowledge is power!). Let me give a quick example of what a wellness shift that looks like: We may start off just wanting a nice butt. Hmmm, okay. Who doesn’t their booty to look good? Of course, y’all! But do you understand all the things that you have to do to naturally get that booty?
We usually start with exercise. Those workouts make your body strong and healthy while releasing endorphins -these chemicals in the body trigger a positive response in us and reduce stress.
Some great side effects of those strong glutes are more support for the lower back and prevention of knee pain, low back pain, hamstring and groin pain. We want to be mindful of our bodies and how they respond to the various activities or stressors we place on the body. Then there’s the food. A well – balanced nutritional life is now in order to support this new workout regimen you have started. You will start looking for so many ways to energize and nourish your body. How you feed your body shifts. You get it? You have a goal that starts as one thing, you do a little research then - BOOM! – let the shift begin!
INTRODUCTION
Finding your way to a lifestyle of wellness is a great way to begin reduction of stress. I do not know how to solve the problems that may affect you and lend to stress in your life, but I can help you shift how you respond. Let’s take a
