    INTRODUCTION

    A healthy man performs superior work; for these reasons, people should put their health first.

    Human survival depends on health; without it, we are no better than unadulterated vegetables without any excellent, nutritious leaves—our ability to complete the majority of tasks on ourselves, lowers both our productivity and general well-being. But occasionally, some of our health problems are brought on by our lack of concern for our well-being. One of the leading causes of many young people dying young and being diagnosed with various sicknesses and diseases is that many people lead entirely unhealthy lifestyles without making any effort to improve.

    You can, however, take the simple route out of this situation by embracing a healthy lifestyle. You can easily guard yourself against several disorders and conditions by eating well and engaging in healthy habits. By reading on, you may use numerous strategies to lead a healthy lifestyle. Your path to wellness has started!

    Chapter 1

    Health and wellness:

    A healthy body, a sound mind, and a peaceful soul are all parts of wellness. Enjoy the journey while pursuing well-being. L. Gagnon Beaulieu, Your top objective should be a healthy lifestyle. As the saying goes, Health is wealth, so one should continually pay close attention to their health. Because being well enables you to engage in more activities than usual, one can only actively participate when they are well. Most of the time, your lifestyle—including the foods you eat, the drugs you use, your beliefs about life, and many other factors—determines your level of health. I believe it is best to thoroughly comprehend the notion of Health" before we go deeper into what it means to be healthy. WHOSE HEALTH IS IT? The traditional definition of health is the absence of any disease, illness, or infection.

    The physical well-being of an individual is the standard definition of health since a person must be able to perform their duties effectively. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is typically associated with achieving physical well-being. A healthy diet, frequent exercise, and enough sleep help one stay healthy. Health, however, also refers to a person's mental, social, and emotional well-being in addition to their physical welfare. It is allegedly concerned with a person's overall well-being. But what is wellness? Wellness is frequently associated with health but with a different connotation.

    The dictionary defines wellness as the act of engaging in practices that can support leading a healthy lifestyle. It comprises good behaviors that will enable you to achieve a healthier state in various areas, including; physical; mental; emotional; social; and much more. It only entails your whole commitment to healthy behaviors to improve your health and ensure a high quality of life. Research has identified four different types of wellness, which are discussed here.

    Physical wellness: 

    This aspect of wellness includes positive behaviors such as maintaining a healthy diet, working out frequently, and adopting the appropriate safety measures. Being physically healthy allows us to properly and adequately care for our bodies and health. Physical well-being encourages us to adopt consistent behavioral patterns that help us lead healthy lives. 

    1. Occupational wellness: Everyone has a reason for being on this planet, and our unique abilities can be considered our actual purpose. Finding that calling and striking a balance between our work and other elements of our lives are both made more accessible by occupational wellness. It draws our attention to the fact that knowing that our career of choice is what we love to do is crucial. This is because our jobs demand a significant amount of our time and attention; thus, to maintain our mental health, it would be vital for us to love what we spend so much of our time on. 

    2. Intellectual wellness: Typically, this entails education. It aids in stimulating the mind with mental exercises to raise a person's intellectual capacity. We can generate original and thought-provoking ideas through this method, with the ability to solve issues.   

    1. Spiritual wellness: Your beliefs, ideals, and sense of inner calm are all part of this type of wellness. Additionally, you should be able to successfully integrate those beliefs into yourself to reflect on life effectively. You can discover the deeper meaning of life, comprehend it, accurately identify who you are, and discover your genuine mission in life through this type of well-being. You gain some spiritual clarity as a result. You must exert a lot of effort to achieve and keep good health. However, we all must maintain a healthy lifestyle to achieve well-being in our physical lives. 

    WHAT TYPE OF LIFESTYLE IS HEALTHY? 

    Leading a healthy lifestyle means not engaging in activities that are entirely ill for us or consuming foods or substances that are bad for us. If so, we are not even close to leading a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle ensures a thriving body system and generally enhances one's health and wellness. Unfortunately, many people consciously lead unhealthy lifestyles, and due to their carefree attitudes, they partake in various activities that are bad for their health and wellness. They voluntarily pay less attention to maintaining healthy lifestyles because they see it as the last thing on their list of life's priorities. They say, Even without working out, I am still doing fine, and The food I eat doesn't matter because if it did give the way it's been hyped, I should have been dead by now. They were unable to notice how these unhealthy behaviors added up and weakened the body's defenses. And that they will feel sorry for themselves when its adverse effects show. I sincerely hope you do not fit into this category, but even if you do, you still have the option to change.

    IMPORTANCE OF LIVING HEALTHY 

    Although maintaining our health should always be a priority in our daily lives, there are several advantages to doing so that are listed below.  

    1. Living a healthy lifestyle extends your life by reducing your risk of illness, disease, and infirmity.   

    • Leading a healthy lifestyle makes it simple to break unhealthy habits and combat addictions. 

    • Leading a healthy lifestyle strengthens one's immune system and guards against diseases, illnesses, and infirmities. 

    • Healthy living raises your confidence and sense of self-worth. 

    • It also contributes to financial savings because unnecessary medical expenses are avoided.  

    HOW TO GET STARTED LIVING HEALTHY 

    It takes a lot of sacrifices, dedication, and consistency to lead a healthy lifestyle because it is a challenging procedure. You would have to give up a lot of junk food and unhealthy foods, give up time for exercise, and so on. However, the following actions can be taken to support someone in maintaining a healthy lifestyle:  

    Understand the issue

    The first step in establishing a healthy lifestyle is listing all the destructive behaviors you must break. We must recognize that naming and cataloging these issues without exclusion aids in comprehending how to address or resolve them. Knowing these unhealthy behaviors helps us start our road toward a healthy lifestyle with no changes.  

    Make up your mind: 

    As we all know, our thoughts govern our actions. Then, to begin living a healthy lifestyle, you will need to prepare your mind for this new decision fully. It would help if you determined whether you desire a healthy lifestyle that guarantees a life free from illness or an unhealthy lifestyle that ensures a life full of disease. No reasonable person would choose an unhealthy lifestyle, smiles. Therefore, prepare your mind for this new path you want to take so that you can start living a healthy lifestyle with all of you might. Keep in mind that your thoughts control your behavior.

    Set your Goals: 

    The first crucial step is to decide what your goals are. 

    Set some healthy goals that you would like to achieve. In order to accomplish your goals, you will be given instructions once they have been set. Establishing goals acts as a road map for keeping track of one's actions and progress. Setting objectives, however, motivates actions that lead to realizing one's desires. Make a strategy today by establishing the goals necessary to live a healthy life. 

    Patience: We must always remember that adopting a healthy lifestyle involves a lot of patience and endurance; therefore, getting fit cannot be accomplished by immediately beginning a healthy lifestyle. It takes time and repeated acts to develop healthy habits. Change is difficult; thus,
