Chariss K. Walker

Chariss K Walker, M. Msc. B.R.A.G. Medallion and Readers' Choice award-winning author, Chariss K. Walker, M.Msc., Reiki Master/Teacher writes both fiction and nonfiction books with a metaphysical and spiritual component. Chariss is a storyteller. She doesn’t use a computer program to write her books. Instead, she sits down at her keyboard and listens to her characters as they lead her through their stories. Those are the stories you read in her published books. Her fiction expresses a visionary message that illustrates growth in a character's consciousness while utilizing a paranormal aspect. Her nonfiction books share insight, hope, and inspiration. Even though Chariss also writes dark-fiction books about insanely dark topics, there is always an essential question of the abstract nature that gives a reader increasing awareness and perception. All of her books are sold worldwide in eBook, and paperback, and many are in audiobook. You can learn more about Chariss at her website: www.chariss.com.

Many Paths to Healing - Chariss K. Walker

    Introduction

This book is an introduction to the many different ways we can assist in our own healthcare and healing journey whether spiritual, mental, or physical; whether body, mind, or soul.

I have shared some of my favorite tips and methods of healing with you in hopes that the information provided will spur you toward a healthier lifestyle and a longer, happier life.

It's never too late to get started on anything that improves our lives.

If you find something useful, please take it and run with it. Incorporate small changes into your daily life so that you can reap the benefit of those changes over a longer time.

    Start small.

If you ordered an exercise bike, you wouldn't expect to jump on it and ride three miles the first day. You would wear yourself out doing that and you would likely hurt your muscles and joints.

Instead, put in three minutes each morning for the first week. Add three minutes to the afternoon for the next week. Now, you're doing six minutes on that bike!

    Keep going like that.

Soon, you will be able to add three minutes in the morning and three in the afternoon. Eventually, your body will build strength and stamina and you will be able to ride for twenty minutes every morning, and possibly, you will feel up to riding it the same way in the afternoon.

That is the way you should start anything new, including this book's suggestions. Take it easy!

To get the most from this book, I recommend that you have a pen and notebook to record your personal thoughts, feelings, and insights, your epiphanies, and research about each chapter.

You will want to look back on your journaling to assess your personal growth.

I also recommend reading the book through before deciding on a particular technique.

Start with one and after you’ve mastered it, move on to another.

Be sure to keep notes about your thoughts and feelings as you read.

    1| Healing

Natural healing is about taking control of your life and being responsible for everything that goes in and out of your body, mind, and soul.

    ~~ Richard Schulze

    ––––––––

Although there are many paths to healing and wellbeing, this book will cover a few as listed in the table of contents. The honest and interested student will discover which path to take.

Self-healing is as much a spiritual endeavor as it is mental or physical because the desire to heal must align with the body, mind, and soul.

That desire becomes a whispered prayer of thanksgiving and gratitude as we walk the path of self-healer. As a self-healer, many times, we’ll listen only to our instincts and intuition because now we understand which body part requires mending from the traumas and injuries of the past.

Some might refer to those instincts and intuitions as our ‘higher self.’ Others might think of the Universe, divine mind, or God. Regardless of the term used, we listen and follow as directed to succeed and recover.

Self-directed healing techniques have been, and continue to be, instrumental in my own healing process. Over the course of many years, I’ve used various methods and benefited from each one.

One example from my own healing path came about by experimenting with reflexology. I discovered that massaging corresponding points on the palms of the hands alleviated digestive problems. After years of devouring antacids and laxatives, the relief felt like a miracle. No more indigestion, constipation, or diarrhea. It was and continues to be, a simple yet incredibly effective healing method which is explained in a later chapter.

For the student of self-healing, it’s truly rewarding and enlightening to discover a few simple truths.

    ––––––––

We already have everything we need to restore our health.

    ––––––––

The ability to self-heal is within our reach. It relies on the capacity of our mind and willingness.

    Consider the following:

    Can you visualize?

    Can you learn something new?

    ––––––––

If you answered ‘yes’ to either of those questions, you are on the right path. If you need help to learn the art of visualization, check out my book, A Beginner's Guide to Visualization: Tips to See Clearly.

Most instructions for self-healers are common sense. For example, whatever we put in and on our bodies affects everything.

A mixture of apple cider vinegar, honey, and water helps to alleviate acid reflux and other digestive problems.

Grains, dairy, and fried foods are instrumental in causing rashes, skin problems, and even acne.

    Echinacea is nature’s antibiotic.

Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and disinfectant.

A little salt on the back of the tongue is a natural relaxant and aids in falling asleep.

Drinking a glass of water before and after a meal aids in weight management and digestion.

Drinking a hot beverage, such as tea, when eating greasy foods, helps facilitate digestion.

You are what you eat. Plants and foods resemble the body parts they help most. For example, carrots when sliced look like eyes. They are good for eye problems. Walnuts are shaped like the brain and are nick-named ‘brain-food.’ Celery looks like bones, and
