    H.E.A.L.—a story of overcoming doubt, fear, and anxiety—a story that is familiar to all of us. A path to repent, renew, reinvigorate, and rejoice—a simple recipe to find something we all eternally seek. A compelling tale of transformation that we can all relate to: a story of success… unhappiness… more success… more unhappiness… despairs. This tale transcends all age groups, races, economic status. It haunts most of us in our day-to-day life.

    H.E.A.L. is a story of finding the path, or the road to get off the see-saw, or ups and downs which is part of life. The program incorporates spirit, mind, body exercises and disciplines to find strength, courage and passion. A program that allows us to achieve goals, gain wisdom or knowledge, and find clarity to make the better choices. It is a program that is simple—and one that works.

    Reading the author’s story one is reminded that this could be a tale about any of our lives. Young, eager, determined to succeed—trying to do it all—have it all—only to find emptiness. His path to renewal is difficult but simple. There are no gimmicks or potions or schemes. It’s a simple commitment to a different way of living—of healing. As a personal training client of the author I became a committed follower of his fitness regime… only to discover that certain pieces to my well being were still missing. First with his help and guidance I focused on adopting a new nutritional regime. Nothing dramatic—or crazy—just a better life style, with improved eating patterns. More frequent smaller meals, more protein, less additives—a simple diet that contained the important elements of health. This included minimal sugar and carbohydrates, more protein (eggs/fish/chicken), more vegetables (steamed plain) and most importantly water—a critical element. Essentially a common sense/no fad diet—no calorie counting, just simple nutritional sense. What a difference it made in almost every aspect of my day-to-day life. I was not a purist—meaning I continued to enjoy food and live a normal life—going out for dinner etc—but the basic principles stayed in-tact.

    After pursuing a new physical and nutritional program, I turned to the spiritual aspect—the one ingredient that made the biggest difference. Honestly I cannot say I was looking for relief, for salvation. I was not aware of any significant emptiness or longing. I am not a very religious person. I am a Christian but not a vocal, frequent practicing one. However, by following the basic principles outlined in the program things changed. By asking for forgiveness, for help in steering my life, for wisdom to make better choices I found comfort, guidance… peace. It was as if I started taking a tonic—something was carrying me through each day—providing support and safety. By following the principles my strength improved, my nutritional program became more automatic, less pre planned. My concerns abated—answers appeared to problems that seemed difficult or impossible. Unexpected changes—impossible to predict—happened.

    By following the few simple steps outlined in H.E.A.L. I found a better way to live. I must confess I don’t follow the program every day—often the days pass and I wonder where the hours went. However, on those days when I am busy, when I do not have the time to follow the basic principles there is a difference—a lingering film—a lack of clarity. The balance slips away. Then I get back to the program and I feel rejuvenated and reinvigorated. After the thirty days I was able to apply the principles to my every day discipline. I continue to feel and see the benefits from this wonderful program.

    Exercise, nutrition, spiritual commitment and focus—these are the simple steps to a peaceful well balanced enriched life. Every aspect of this is outlined and included in this story of personal renewal and change—one that each and every one of us can relate to and learn from.

    INTRODUCTION

    H.E.A.L. is a thirty day program that incorporates spirit, mind and body practices and disciplines to help you gain the strength, courage and calmness to handle all obstacles that stand in your way; the passion to go after your dreams and achieve your destiny; the wisdom, knowledge and confidence to make the right choices in all of life’s decisions; the clarity in your thinking to always keep you in balance in life’s four quadrants; and the spirit to be the light for others. Each week you will gain information to equip you to develop the necessary skills that will last a lifetime whether times are good or times are bad. Each week builds on the previous week’s work so approaching this program with:

    1. The commitment to see through to completion

    2. An open mind to learn the skills necessary to succeed

    3. Consistency

    4. Fasting three hours prior to bed and drink 8 bottles of 500ml of water during the day.

    5. Pray, meditate, read and memorize scripture first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, (drink 1 cup of coffee if needed).

    I will start this program by giving you a background on me. You will read about how out of balanced and out of control I lived my life. I will share with you how my life changed and how yours can to by applying these simple and easy to follow disciplines. I break this program into four weeks with a different phase each week.
