TIDAL WAVES & THE KARAMOJA CRY - Justine Birabwa

We shouldn’t feel embarrassed by our difficulties only by our failure to grow anything beautiful from them

    Alain De Botton.

I would have fainted UNLESS I believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. When he wrote Tidal WAVEE after his class, that 5th of May 2022, going forward, my life was impacted. From restless dreams, to self-reflection, slowly by slowly the eyes I’d closed to reality opened; Now I SEE HIS BLESSINGS …All I needed was TIME….

Blessing Nalunga is a gift from God to me. I sent her 3 she re-drew 11 flowers on September 4th, 2022. I waited 5 years to have her. On 11th September 2022 about 00:37am EST she called and we talked. She thanked her dad for buying her a dress with black stars. Until I went to 77 Days of Glory, my life was miserable. We ended our conversation with a Psalms 23.6 prayer. Surely goodness and Mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives and we shall dwell in the house of the lord Forever and EVER. AMEN. @00.42 am EST.

TIDAL WAVES & THE KARAMOJA CRY is a July 2022 Publication. Place:    Lakeshore, Etobicoke, and Down Town Toronto Canada.

    Dedication.

Am indebted to all those who have made TIDAL WAVES a MUST:

I thank Divine Mercy for letting there be children, music and Sound Judgement. Also, for keeping my bones in good shape so I can write. Above all, for the gift of life to see your goodness in the land of the living. Thank you, Lord, for your awesomeness.

All my Spiritual mentors, this book is dedicated to you.

My maternal family mummy-you have been there. You never married even though our dad went to the Lord when you were young. We honor your decision. And on a special note, Uncles Muwanga Andrew of Makerere University, Mukasa, and John Mawejje and family of U.K- what a pillar you are! Never lose hope. Just when you think its over. GOD Sends you a MIRACLE. Your rainbows called light from our darkness. That way, you overturned WAVES. You made my coming to Canada possible. God keep you dear one and your family. Love you to the moon and back.

My teachers and staff at the Toronto Film School for considering me worthy to be a part of the Acting for Film, T.V and Theatre. Not forgetting Sofia. We met in August of 2019; she ensured that by 4 th April 2022 I was in Class. What a commitment!

To Amanda Dervaitis and your family. God knew I needed you and orchestrated the process. You clothed us warmly in the winter of 2019. God bless you dearly.

To Justus, entire Lubumba team for the care towards Blessing. Your help is greatly appreciated.

My siblings and sisters in love-Katie, Joy, Peninnah, Gloria-thanks for keeping our brothers warm. May God remember your every deed.

All my schoolmates and friends especially, the two Hellens, Strongquill, Sabrina, Thompson and Mercedes, Humbho, Kyle, the two Brendas, Jane, Lillian and Joy, the two Obeds, Tobe and Steve, to mention but a few. You are all awesome.

    MY GREATES INSPIRATION

"With 82% of this region’s population living in poverty and food insecurity, Karamoja’s level of development is significantly lower than the rest of the country"

    London School of Economics.

This is a picture of one of the many families fortunate to get the 50 kilogram fortified meal .In Northern Uganda(Karamoja Subregion hides and skins is what they sleep on. 300 sleeping mats were collected though its not enough. Many are cold and are also without food. Thank God, your contribution makes a difference.

Meet Angel the Miracle boy: He lost his mother and  the only sibling he had to hunger. Through the Bucket Project, he' back to his feet. Over 10,000 metric tons of food have been provided.  Angel lives with his grandmother. Pastor Robert advised they test him, he came with a Cough. The granny  has been advised to keep him warm so he can grow. He is just three years.  Over 900 people have died as a result of acute food shortage.  By sowing a seed for Karamoja Cry (www.channel44store.com), you contribute to  the 10 Billion plan to help Northern Uganda recover.

    My greatest inspiration.

By July 15th, 2022, a friendly conversation had turned into sarcasm. From slamming the door, to used brown McDonald papers right in front of me, I had my share. When discomfort takes you back to the drawing table; self-reflection starts. What a Blessing in disguise!

I take inspiration from my  Bible and immediate family members. My Uncle John, in United Kingdom-a certified accountant sends me daily self -conduct inspirations. This is one of them: "The best translator is one who can translate someone’s silence into a smile not in tears".

The Beauty about Creative Learning centers like Toronto Film School is they are  anointed  to jumpstart ones creative ability. From plays, movement , voice, emotional intelligence directives to more advanced Camera Acting Skills you develop the right mental muscle and as a result apply appropriate emotional wealth strategies to Not only break barriers but also OVERCOME seemingly difficult situations in changing business climates . Against that background, even though the shipwrecked; through moment-to moment specifics , I found a jewel.

Amongst many things’ rings communicate, honesty and friendship mean a lot to me. Going forward, whenever I sat near her, I felt calm. Much like a baby in her mother’s arms. You don’t need much in Waves . One key- eleventh-hour intervention opens many doors.

Aside from that, I reflected on my mother. She encourages us to keep moving till you get to the next turn. On top of that, the Karamoja Cry also took my focus. For long the region has suffered. Whenever i connected to channel 44-tears rolled down my eyes. The old are crawling out of hunger. Due to death of parents, Child headed homesteads are on
